As I said in my previous post, I would not feel comfortable sitting a whole day behind a desk, so I would not recommed anybody to do it before 2 weeks post surgery.
That being said, I am using close to zero painkillers, so I assume that somebody willing to take a cocktail of painkillers should easily be able to go back to work after just 1 week post surgery, maybe even before.
The penis is relatively easy to conceal, even partially inflated, as you would just pull it towards your belly and using a belt or a jock strap you keep it under the radars, and mine is not particularly small either.
If you also tell people that you had an hernia surgery, you should be fully covered.
The only exception being if you have to wear a specific dress that would be too tight, then your dick could be noticeable.
So in summary unless there is no special dressing code and you are willing to take a cocktail of painkillers, there should be nothing that would prevent you from going to the office even a week after the surgery, and most probably even well before.

Update: day 12 post-surgery.

Nothing special today. Last night I slept with no meds. The only thing that is still impractical is to permanently wear a jock strap to hide the little boy. That's also causing some medium discomfort due to the pressure excerced to keep the boy flat towards my low abdomen. Healing is improving everyday.
Please feel free to ask questions, I see a lot of views on this thread but not many questions.

Hi CanalGuy,

I have my surgery booked with Dr Clavell next month and I'd appreciate if you could give me some advice.

How do you feel overall about the surgery at this point?

How is your pump placement? Is it between your two testicles or behind them? Can you feel any tubing?

When can you start cycling?

Thanks

As answered in your other thread, I specifically asked Dr Clavell to place the pump just behind my balls. I didn't like it to be prominently visible and I can confirm that indeed it is very well concealed, right in the middle back of my balls, as expected. I understand that for better patients accessibility, he places the pump in front of your balls, then it is much easier to reach, grab and squeeze, especially if you have no strong grip on your hands. I rather prefer to struggle a little bit than having it placed just in front of the face of my wife.
I feel very well today after 12 days post surgery and I can easily touch the pump and the release valve, I am almost tempted to give it a try, but I cannot do it without Dr Clavell geeenlight. I guess I have to wait a little more than 1 week before being cleared for deflation and pumping...I am now sleeping without painkillers and there is little or no pain around or inside the scrotum. The only area where I still feel some burning sensation is around the tip of my penis and sometimes, very seldom, around the suture area.

Update: day 13 post-surgery.

Another full sleep night, no pain and no meds.
Scabs are naturally falling, I had very little of them, I assume due to the internal way of closing the suture. Also I have been unable to locate a single external stich. Discomfort is diminishing more and more every day. I feel very little disturbance when I pull my little boy towards my lower abdomen. Pump is still sitting lower behind my back balls and right in the middle, it is very much palpable and totally invisible from the front. I have not used a single painkiller for many days now and I feel great. While I am currently working from home, I could easy go to work tomorrow and sit in an office desk if I had to.

Hey CanalGuy,

I'm gonna pm you if you don't mind. Your experience is helping me prepare for my implant surgery with the same doctor.

Thank You

Feel free to PM me. I am writing this personal journal in an attempt to help people like you, so you can have an idea of what you can expect day after day, up to the IPP activation and then to its usage. All questions, public or by PM, are more than welcome. Of course my experience would apply to most surgeons, not only mine. However, don't forget to take in account that we are all different, a slight difference in terms of age, weight, physical health, conditions, etc, could make your own experience very much different from mine.

Update: day 14 post-surgery.

I am now 2 full weeks post surgery and very happy.
Wounds are progressively disappearing and I can feel my scrotum shrinking around my 3 balls :D.
There is very little swelling and as stated in a previous post, the pump is totally undetectable from the front and no way somebody would look at it from the back either.
I had no last minute buyer remorse syndrome during the whole period post surgery.
I can still fill some discomfort while pulling the boy towards my lower abdomen but it is very mild and I don't need any meds.
I am sure that, if I continue at this progression speed, my surgeon will allow me to have an earlier than standard activation. I still cannot understand how people are activated at 3 days post surgery, it has to be imposible without heavy dosage of painkillers and I know that I am among those that have suffered the less. I do understand that for those having recieved the implant by infrapubic incision, there is much less to heal around the pump area and the scrotum, so maybe for them it should be much more comfortable to get activated a couple of days after surgery. Nonetheless I would not let a surgeon practice the infrapubic incision to me, mainly because the permanent front scar for life just above my penis and also becuse it is much more difficult, if not imposible, to place the pump in the back of my balls.
