I see the short version, I'm wanting some details about how a stroke ended his sex life. I'm not familiar with that happening, and seems like a major thing so he's surely got a story to tell.

A stroke can cause portions of one's brain to die. A close relative of mine had a stroke that destroyed the speech centers. Could still think, write, reason, etc, but could not vocalize words. Sometimes recovery is possible as the brain rewires itself. Sometimes not.

I will venture the guess that the part of the brain that controls libido was damaged permanently. Or, since his wife provided no reason for recovery, his brain did not see the need for it.

Also since I'm a dude with severe brain damage I kinda assumed I get some leeway here, but obviously up to him if he feels like sharing more or not.

I don't think you are intruding. I am just trying to help, especially since I think he does not visit the site all that often.

Somewhere back in old posts of his there is more detail, but not much more. He had ED. As I recall (which may have inaccuracies) his wife had not too much interest in sex but was apparantly still willing. He got implanted. Sometime during the recovery process, he had a stroke which dropped his libido to zero. He still cycled the implant for a few years just to keep things stretched out, but for no sexual purposes. Eventually the implant would not cycle any more, so he does not even do that any more.

That is his story as best I can recall. If you search through his old posts, you will find out everything I know, including stuff I forgot.

Ah cool, I might've misinterpreted what you meant by intruding. Yeah I searched if he's submitted any posts but didn't find any. Thanks for the story, quite unfortunate but I could imagine that happening.

Odd you couldn't find any of my posts. I've been here since 2011 and have made over 1600 of them. Lost Sheep has it pretty much correct - and I think maybe you read the wrong post on the link I sent. It was Steve5231, whose post appears immediately above mine, who had 3 strokes. I just had the one, but it was plenty. As LS observed, strokes can affect one in many ways. Mine was in my brainstem - when I complained of various symptoms, my neurologist said "95% of people who had what you had are dead. So at least you're better off than they are." That was true enough, but life as I had known it was changed drastically.

You inquired why we couldn't have sex after the stroke. It wasn't a matter of physical ability (after all, I could still inflate the implant) but rather a complete lack of desire. Neither of us wanted to - my wife because she lost interest after menopause and me because of no libido.

In my opinion the data so far represented in this pool prove very optimistic results. According to current voting results, 60% of people use their implant at least 4 times a week, while 40% of all people use it more than 5 times a week!

The purpose of this pool may not have been clear first, but I wanted to find the way people with implant think. Whether they are worried, scared or skeptical about using the implant, or they just live free and non-limiting sex life as we all in this community wish. This pool seems to have optimistic results in this matter.

also remember there are most likely more FT members belonging to the 5+ times/week than just those shown in the poll results, since these guys are too busy fucking or enjoying life to be using this forum anymore..

My wife and I would probably use it every morning, but we have to engage in quite a bit of foreplay before getting it on.

Right now, I play golf 2 times a week and tee time is 6am.
That makes it inconvenient for sex on those days.

My wife claims to like her golf days, but when something interferes with golf on a day, it's game on.

Unrelated, but my 81 year old wife didn't need any lube yesterday.
Being old doesn't have to be all bad.
