Thanks to everyone here for such great information and resources.
Still pretty sore and exhausted, but the meds are dealing with most of the pain, and in really glad I got the catheter out this morning. And now begins my two weeks off of work to heal.
How long can I expect it to hurt while urinating, because it currently hurts A LOT.

Congrats.
Hang in there.
The paint for the first few days can be tough..... REST....RELAX.....
Frozen vegetables every hour helped reduce swelling.
Don't be freaked out by the discoloration/bruising (normal).
In a few short weeks you are going to be "in business" and agreeing that the JUICE was worth the SQUEEZE. You'll see.
REST, pal!

Yea, the catheter irritates the lining of your penis, and it'll burn for a few days. Lots of water helps.
A bag of frozen peas (or two) is a good ice pack to minimize swelling.
Hopefully healing will go well and fast, and you'll be enjoying your new tool soon.

Had mine 8 days ago. Haven't had pain while peeing. Took almost a week to notice slight reduction in swelling & bruising. Things improving daily. Looking forward to doc visit in 2 weeks to learn how to pump & deflate (cycling). In the meantime, I'm following the advice to pull down on the pump 2 or 3 times a day to move it down in my scrotum. I was concerned tight waistbands might irritate the incision; doc said wear what's comfortable.

A couple days after getting the catheter out, I passed some blood while urinating. Alarmed me. I called my surgeon's office and was told that if it is not a huge quantity, it is normal for some clots to pass (and they are pretty soft and liquid) in urine.
