Semen analysis and process
This is a dumb question, but I am going in soon to be checked for bacterial prostatitis and will probably need to give a semen sample. I know what I have to do, but has anyone here given a semen sample? Am I alone in the room--I assume? The sample has to be untainted I am sure so just curious what this appointment is going to be like. Thanks.

Not a dumb question at all. A new one, I think, but pertinent.
About 40 years ago I gave a semen sample when my then-girlfriend wanted to get pregnant. She had had her tubes tied years before and before the doctor would do the surgery he wanted confirmation that the operation would be worthwhile.
They gave me a room in the clinic in which I was alone in a room with a plastic cup. I think there were pronographic magazines available, but did not use them, so am not sure if my memory is correct on that count. I have heard that in other offices they do have them.
I did not ask if my GF could come in to help. I imagine they would not have objected, but cannot be sure.

Private room with porn. Get it done. I was 90days after a vasectomy and still shooting viable sperm. Sperm test every week. 28 yrs old at that time and masterbating every day. some days more. Doc started wondering if he screwed up.
