Implants

Postby iwantanewone » Wed Apr 27, 2022 1:17 am

Well…I’m scheduled to become bionic on 05/17. If I don’t change my mind. When I speak to the doctor I’m very confident this is the best decision. When I get home I can change my mind every minute. The positive stories on FT keep me going until I read unhappy customers. I would love to hear from everyone that is not worried about size that the pain goes away, that sex feels normal at some point and that eventually you get used to the implant and don’t think about it all the time until you are ready to pump it up and use it. I’m sure we would all like to have a natural penis and not the implant but is it worth all of this? I’m 59 with ED 2 years and pills don’t work much at all….of course, it’s the possible side effects and complications that have me worried though I have a great surgeon…. Time will tell…..thanks for any replies!

I've had ED for over 20 years. I got my implant after 19+ years.

The implant is much, much better than pills ever were, even in the early days of my ED when the pills worked pretty well.

It took several months of healing, but eventually sex became very good. My dick has a slightly different shape than before, but I don't see any difference in size.

Overall, this has absolutely been the best treatment for my ED.

I’m about 9 weeks from my implant at Duke. I was able to gain back my length from younger days. I think the confidence of not failing is great. My wife is totally on board and the sex has been great. We are able to continue until we are too tired to move anymore and sex is better than it ever was. I’m sorry that I didn’t get the implant sooner. If you follow your docs instructions you should be fine. I found that ice the first few days helped a lot. At about 10 days I started with warm baths and was able to inflate with only mild pain. At this point I can inflate to max with no problem. I could probably drill a hole in a brick wall I get so hard. I say go for it.

I fought ED for years with pills then injections. Hated putting all those drugs into my body. When I learned about implants that was about the same time injections had begun to fail me. Took me two years to decide and wish I would have found FT then. My surgery went fine although healing took me 5-6 months to feel no ache/pain/soreness. Pain drugs doc gave me didn't do anything but make me nauseous. After the 6 month mark I was feeling much better, could inflate and deflate like I'd been doing it for years. By one year out it was just a part of me. Now at 2 1/2 years with my implant it has been amazing. Whenever we want to have sex I can inflate in less than a minute. No planning to take a pill, no jumping up to go inject! Hope your surgery goes well, you heal fast and enjoy the new you.

I suffered for nearly 30 years and can emphatically say - I am elated that I made this decision!

Happy to have a conversation - PM me and we can set up some time to talk.

I've become so elated by the outcome that I am now a patient advocate for Boston Scientific - speaking with men of all ages considering implants.

Its a big step. You will be glad you did it. Don't overthink it.

I just got my implant done on March 16th and can't be happier... I had a minor infection because of the Foley catheter not being installed properly and causing an irritation to the foreskin. Then had a bump where a tube had to settle in, other than that causing me some apprehension, all good now. Bwana Dik is now 100 percent reliable!
Please note that I am not at all afraid of surgery but when it comes to my manhood it becomes a different story. I've had a shoulder replaced.... I've had orthopedic surgeries beyond count but this was special. No.... I gotta tell you that when I did this I didn't have to- particularly because there wasn't any pressure from my spouse and I was still partially capable intermittently when I used pills or ved.
The keyword here is intermittent.....I could never tell when Bwana was going to fail in midstroke and have to switch over to to some other methodology for satisfaction.
I am still getting comfortable with the foreign objects in my body but day-by-day it gets easier easier to ignore some things there... I have to really work at discovering that I've got something going on. So basically I'm just telling you that if you snooze you lose and keeping active and being active and sexually athletic is super important to keep an old guy going.... Not to mention feeling pretty good while we're doing it. My opinion is that you can spend quite some time here on Frank talk and get just about every topic covered quite well... guys here won't steer you wrong everybody has hit the same the same wall and is getting honest with themselves and others. Pretty much. I just laughed at the size guys.... Man , if you've got over 5" you're doing good and you can use it like Billy the GOAT and make that girl happy. As long as your back holds up.JMHO.

I was super apprehensive too. at one point, I was adamantly against it. But finally I gave up on the other things (pills, injections) and got the implant.
Wish I had done it sooner. The first week is pretty uncomfortable. The second week better. At 8 weeks I dont even realize its there however, if I grab the penis, I can feel some
of the tubing/cylinders. HOWEVER - that even better than than what I was dealing with before -an atrophying shrinking member.
Do it. You will be happier. as for size? girth is smaller than before surgery, length is almost the same. still would do it again in a heart beat.
Just remember the first couple weeks are not so much fun, but it does get better each day.
59. ED from prostate removal surgery in 2018. Low doses of Trimix worked fine but usually gave a painful erection. Sildenafil - hit and miss but caused headaches for 8-12 hours. AMS-700CX 21 cm cylinder placed on 2-22-22.

Thanks for all the info and guidance. I could change my mind at any minute but forcing myself to go through with the surgery. I know it’s best in the long run. (So to speak).
But for now I thin I’ll remain high anxiety until surgery day..
