I'm scheduled for my implant in Mid-July.
My wife wants to be prepared for my recovery. I know I've seen pics here in the Implant thread of bruising and swelling but I can't find any.
Any links?

Re: Recovery Pics
there is not much you need to be prepared for other than staying off your feet for a week or two. You can get up and walk as much as you can stand, but for me and some other people, standing too long resulted in a feeling like your ball sack was on fire. So this is what I suggest. Be prepared to spend a week or so, mostly laying flat. Have some of those gel ice packs because you probably will need to ice your scrotum -- most docs recommend that you do. sure you will have bruising for a couple weeks. you will have some discomfort. I wasnt in pain, just discomfort and mostly when I was up walking. But laying down on my back was fine. Couldnt sleep on my side for a couple weeks due the scrotum being swollen. The pump in your scrotum is the hardest thing to get used to, but you will forget its there after a month -- and until you want to use it.
59. ED from prostate removal surgery in 2018. Low doses of Trimix worked fine but usually gave a painful erection. Sildenafil - hit and miss but caused headaches for 8-12 hours. AMS-700CX 21 cm cylinder placed on 2-22-22.

Please take everyones input with a grain of salt. If your surgeon is know to be good, you should be fine. Things I have learned:
1. First couple of days you will be swollen, but it will subside quickly. The pain should be easily manageable. I took only 2 of the opioid pills they prescribed, then just Tylenol. By day 5 I was only taking tylenol twice a day, and stopped a day later. I never once needed ice, even overnight in the hospital. I thought the catheter was a bigger problem than anything else - was thrilled to have that ball and chain removed.
2. As for standing - my Dr recommended a lot of walking around to keep the blood flowing and get things back in order. The secret to this for me was VERY supportive boxer briefs to keep the boys high and tight (Duluth Trading boxer briefs in one or 2 sizes smaller than normally worn worked the best - saved me lots of pain and even made side sleeping ok.
3. Keep your mind busy - crossword puzzles, games, anything that keeps your mind occupied will keep you from focusing on discomfort. I am an account manager for a large corporation. I work from home. By day 4 I was back to working at my desk for hours at a time - just be sure to keep your feet up and take a small walk every so often.
4. Get plenty of sleep.
5. On day 3 forward you should be able to shower. Hot showers were helpful and soothing for me. Relax.
If done correctly you should do just fine.

Re: Recovery Pics
I had only minor bruising (and that is for a revision surgery with tons of scar tissue to get thru - had the failed implant removed and then had to heal for man months before new surgery - and Covid overload at hospital pushed back surgery an additional month and a half). The bruising I had was gone by the end of week one. The punctures on the head of my penis were glued shut with only a hint of bruising. By the middle of week two the bruising was gone and the glue covered scabs fallen off and no sign of it happening. Amazed. My first implant Dr butchered me.... Get the best surgean is the most important thing!

Re: Recovery Pics
Only bruise I had was on the glans from the needles. Nothing on shaft or scrotum—eat a lot of pineapple in the weeks leading up to surgery and it will reduce bruising

Re: Recovery Pics
I had no swelling or bruising until the second day when his moron assistant deflated it and reset to inflate to hold it at that point, pressing right on the brand new incision, i wanted to clobber him. Told uro that if i had to see him again i was going to knock him on his ass! I used frozen bags of peas and corn for the first 2 weeks and it all went down. If you dont use them, you can still eat them. Gl
