I want to see what advice people have when it comes to learning how to inflate and deflate. I have been trying to take this step. The Dr makes it seem so easy.
Two main areas:
1. How do you locate what areas to squeeze / push? I think I am able to feel the pump but I am unable to locate the deflation button.
2. The area that I believe is the pump is rock hard and it hurts to squeeze.
Advise is appreciated.

Re: Getting help with inflating and deflating
The best way to learn is to use hot bath. In hot bath your scrotum will be very light and these parts will be easy to spot. Its not easy at the beginning but it does get better and easier. I felt exactly how you felt when I started cycling( and if I am an Idiot to not able to do such a simple thing like what my doctor said)..
I had this difficulty at the beginning too( now I am like day 20 and I started cycling from day 10 - It took me 10 days to learn it at intermediate level.. its all beginner problems.. but when u take hot bath you need to squeeze it and feel the tubes.. you can easily identify the Bulb - its hard, its bigger than your balls.. Just start squeezing it - it is painful at the beginning but it will ease over the days.. more practice the better.. take time do it slowly no rush.. you can feel the juices flowing and you can hear the small sound of the pump working( cant explain it you have to feel it)..
Deflation button is another animal it is hard and concealed and very difficult to spot( I agree with you) but more and more use it again it gets easier. just feel the tubes and its like a maze and you need to find the deflation button. Make sure you are able to find the deflation block from there its mostly on the right side unless its turned. Just feel it with your fingers( for me I felt using left hand is much easier).. and its tricky to use it.. Just keep doing it slowly and find the button and press it ( I dont know which one you have titan one touch, titan old model, AMS which model? as it varies how it all works...)
and yes pump is hard and it hurts.. did u get infrapubic or prescrotal.. for prescrotal it can pain even more until its fully healed.. infrapubic is bit easier but it still pains when you pump it( for me again I try using right hand and or left hand slowly in hot water at the beginning and take your own sweet time and dont rush it)
and finally maybe worth popping in ibuprofen 1 hour before cycling.. it will help a bit ( and helps reduce inflammation too)
Keep going dont lose hope.. I was there where you are 10 days back

Re: Getting help with inflating and deflating
I wouldn't soak in a bath until your incision is fully healed, too big of infection risk. Your doctor will let you know when you can soak. Then a hot bath will help loosen things up.
If you have a Coloplast the inflation bulb is the very bottom of the pump in your scrotum. It will feel rounded, and yes very hard at first to pump. I needed both thumbs and index fingers. The deflate button is very small, usually the doc will place it facing a testicle depending on your dominant side. e.g. -right handed will face left testicle. You really have to feel along the side of the box part above the bulb for a small bump. If you push on the tiny bump you should feel a bit of pressure released, but you need to squeeze the saline out of your shaft. I prefer to wrap a layer of towel around my shaft, press and hold the button down, then squeeze my shaft from top to bottom. It takes 20-30 seconds to fully drain all the saline up to the reservoir.

Thanks for the advice. I am 10 days out right now I am where you started.
I am not sure what type of surgery I had. I believe I had prescrotal. My model though is the AMS 700.

I have the AMS 700. I will ask my doctor about the hot bath.

Re: Getting help with inflating and deflating
You are probably a little early for hot bath, deflating and inflating this early since having your implant. It probably still has some swelling and healing to do. I went for 4 week follow up today and he said I am ready to start exercising the implant and pump 3 times a day. I don't think I would've wanted to start that any sooner. I have ams 700 cx 21cm. I am very happy with my decision so far.

What implant did you get? Is it a Coloplast titan?

Re: Getting help with inflating and deflating
I dont believe they would have asked you to start cycling at day 10 with prescrotal. Where is your incision? is it in your pubic area or in your scrotum? Pubic area = infrapubic, scroum = prescrotal
Follow the post op instructions given by your doctor. Dont rush into anything.. Hot bath /Cycling should not be taken by prescrotal patients until maybe after 6 weeks. Ice bath is must.
