On the cash front I have got a medical financing company that just approved 35K ..to be repaid over 7 years ..with option to prepay the balance before the tenure. That translates to around 700 CAD per month..which is ok with me.

During the initial phone call with the Toronto surgeon, he mentioned to me that he has to "order" the implant for me.

After reading in detail through Dr.Eids site and some other resources he specifically mentions that he has several sizes of both brands readily available. An accurate decision of implant sizing is possible only after the corpora is opened and measured...if I understand it right.

Also reading through Merrix's journal..Dr.Eid discarded the first implant and tried RTE and then used a different size implant.
My assumption is a low volume surgeon will order one implant and will try to add RTEs and or somehow try to fit that one implant to my anatomy since he has only one implant to try. That itself sounds like a risk of suboptimal result.

Also I luckily came across another member from Toronto..who is also scheduling with Dr.Eid.
Looking like I am aiming for the best..fingers crossed.

Hi Captain, did you end up pulling the trigger on an implant? If so, did you go for Dr. Eid or a surgeon in Canada? I'm curious as I'm also a Canadian, currently looking towards Dr. Eid since he is as far as I can tell the best in the business...which obviously comes at a cost. Not 100% sure I would be comfortable going to a Canadian surgeon for this operation since they are low volume and this is very high value cargo we are dealing with!

I'm perfectly willing to finance my implant if it comes to that. What worries me is if Bruno the repossession agent shows up at my door and wants the merchandise back. :o
Decades+ ED; finally ultrasound showed venous leak+arterial insufficiency. Infrapubic (Yay!) implant by Dr. Karpman 8/9/22; with 13 cm distal, 9 proximal Titan. Cleared for new life 9/1/22 and hoping to make up for lost time.

If I go with the Canadian surgeon in Sept and get back the erection and keep daily cycling and using the implant when I can.
In case the results are not great, I can go to Dr.Kramer next year for a revision, by then the world financial situation would stabilize and hopefully I will have the cash in my hand from property sale.
The Coloplast person mentioned to me the surgeon has a good track record. I guess I am asking what is the worst he can do( he is an Urologist MD in Canada..I dont think he has any motivation to not do a good job)..that might worsen my situation...such that Dr.Kramer cant recover it an year later.

Thanks in advance.

I followed my AMS recommendation for a 'Great' surgeon and ended up with distal crossover. Even Kramer cannot easily fix that. Let's face it. Life is a roll of the dice. I stacked everything in my favor that I could and still came up with a half win. The only advice I can give you is get an LGX. That was my half win. Minutes before my doc tried to talk me into a CX. I said hail no no LGX no surgery!!! Then he measured me 4 inches. That was 3 inches shorter than my best. The LGX was able to recover enough to give me a half win.
I suppose that I should add that I insisted before surgery that my doc SHOW me what to expect. He stretched me out in his office ok so I went with it. Then during surgery he measured me very short. You cannot trust these guys at all in my opinion. Get an LGX. At least then you have a small chance to regain length. Took me 9 months of VED therapy. Just something to think about. Like I said it's a roll of the dice. I went to 4 different surgeons before I picked one and still ended up with a dud. The first guy promised he would make me 1 inch shorter. The second guy said 2 inches. The third guy showed me about half an inch loss then shorted me much more. Good luck
LGX 18cm+3cmRTE 8 / 8/18 by Docs Saracino , Prody of FL Disfigured by Implant. Married 31 years, Functionally impotent 2+ years. 4" day of surgery now 7" inflated after VED 6.5" without. Pump moved 12/4/18 by Dr Kata
