A first time poster on the chopping block in 3 weeks *3rd day post op update*

Postby TalkFrankly » Sat Jun 25, 2022 9:07 pm

Hey there,

I've been a lurker for a while and now that the date comes closer I figured I would say hi.

There's been alot of great threads I've learned alot from so thanks to all for that !

I'm not sure what I can share tbh.
I'm 48 had Ed problems, mostly performance anxiety for the good part of 30 years. To this day I can still get a hard erection but only when on a solo mission. Pills kinda worked, shockwave nothing and injections, work like mad but I hate them. They hurt and burn and not what I want to do for the rest of my life. Yes it's all probably in my head but even still I can't maintain an erection. Cock rings help but only so much. So I decided to get an implant.

I've been wanting one for a very long time. Just to have a solid erection and maintain it would erase my performance anxiety and boost my moral.

I'm not nervous, barely thinking about it. Only thing is post surgery like everyone is not something I'm looking forward to. Also loosing length, I'm 8.5" and thick, my wife is fine with the length, she's small, not thrilled about more girth but we all have to make sacrifices.

So I'll report back in the not so distant future

--------

I posted the day of my return on theast page, I was probably a little high still from the pills they gave me.
So for a more serious update...

Day 1 wasn't too bad, I slept most of the time,
Pain was minimal, 1-2 out if 10
Very sore, movement was kept restricted
Peeing was 8-10 if not 9. I was avoiding liquids which I shouldn't have done but I didn't want to pee that badly.
I left the wrap on and iced constantly
I had a drain in from my scrotum which besides gross did hurt when I pulled at it accidentally once.

Day 2
Nothing much to report
Pain stayed low
Soreness was noticeably better
Peeing was alot better but still hurt
I found myself very worried about infection actually got some anxiety about it so I removed the wrap and gave it a good cleaning and inspection. Everything seemed good, I applied polysporin and lightly wrapped it up
Brusing is only around the bottom 1" at the base of my penis
It's sore to move around so I'm not

Day 3
Had the drain removed, told not wrap it, wash and medicate
Pain is gone
Soreness isn't too bad, moving my penis around is quite sore
Peeing is almost back to normal

Overall I'm very happy with how things are progressing, my mood is great, I'm happy that I did this. Definitely no regrets. It's inflated maybe 50%, it looks like a smaller version of my penis. Which was 8.5" and looks about 5.5" which if that's where it stays I'm good with that. However the doctor said that when we pump in 2 weeks I'll see a difference. Over time he says I should regain most of not all of my length. Anything more at this point is a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

I'll keep it updated

Hi and welcome.
I’ll be brief, if you can confidently get a satisfactory erection on your own, I would look at solutions that address your head worries first.

You would be making a considerable mistake, especially since you are married with (presumably) a supportive wife.

Good luck.

I hated injections. Worse is when you get warmed up then have to jump up to go inject, what a mood kill. Near the end of my use the dose was so high just to get maybe a 70-80% erection it kept me sore for 2 days.
Healing from my implant was a tough 5 months but I wouldn't give it up for anything now. It is a tough decision and as you know it is not reversable. The possibilities of a failure in the future made me worry, but now I know most implants last for a good while. It's the only way I was able to keep intimate relations with the wife alive. After ED, then pills failed, then injections failed she was ready to give up. Now we're both happy.

IF your doc, your wife and your insurance are onboard, then you must have a real need. As for girth with that size you must have a goliath girth. I don't think they make them that big. But your wife will be happy :P Also not counting glans but including rear tip extenders you'd need about 30 to 31 cm. I think Titan has 24 cm cylinders but you'd need about 6 or 7 cm rtes. Talk to your doc about that. May hang low. As for healing I returned to work after 13 days. Didn't need the a bit stronger than aspirin pills. A little ice goes a long way. Keep in touch we'd love to hear more and good luck :P

I appreciate your advice. I've been at this for 25 years. Since the Perf anxiety showed up out of no where. I've back then I managed to work around it but the last 10 years have been pills, therapy, shockwave, injections and I'm too tired for it anymore. It's now gotten to the point where we haven't had sex in a year. Killed my ego, self worth etc... She's taken to feeling guilty and bad about herself thinking she's partially to blame. We've always been in an open marriage and while I'm more than happy for her to keep an active sex life I'm done not being apart of it.

I'm 50 this year, I can cry about it or take this final step which has many drawbacks but I'd like to be able to get it up and keep it up. Oh I wouldn't say I can confidently get it up when on my own. Sometimes it's half hard. Some fully some not at all. And it take some 30-45 min to get hard at that.

I am curious about how this might be a considerable mistake.

The doc said I will loose length which I knew, possibly 2".
At first I was shocked but then my wife said that she'd rather me have a 6" working cock than an 8.5" flavor one. She made a good point.
Honestly having a large penis is wonderful but comes with drawbacks, anal is usually a non starter lol right now I'd gladly give up 2 inches for regular sex. Which for my wife is twice a day if she had her way and if all works well it will be my regular as well.

My GP, Men's health doc (Viagra, shockwave, injections) and my surgeon all seem to be on the same page as I am so I'm feeling it's time to do this.

Hello TF
I can appreciate your frustration. I offered my advice because
1. You said you can get a good erection solo.
2. You acknowledged it’s likely in your head.
3. Nowhere did you say that among all the interventions you tried, counseling was among them.

You have a wife who wants very much to get this resolved.
An implant is one solution, but it will never replace a natural erection.

I have my implant and I love it, but my ED was a result of surgery. My doctor told me I had very little chance to get my erections back and I too was tired of the injections.

But I recognize the shortcomings to this device and I can objectively say I’d prefer my natural erections if I could ever get them back.

Good luck to you. And take care of that wife of yours. She sounds like a catch.

If all has failed and your wife is on board I say it's time. My wife was so supportive even though she wasn't sure of the outcome. Truthfully neither was I. All I knew is the implant would allow me to have a firm erection again.

I agree that a diagnosis is important. After being impotent for 2 plus years my wife and I were both convinced that it was in my head. Tests showed severe venous leakage and peyronies.
With your size I would not recommend an LGX. They make 23 cm but the larger ones bulge. Because my doc put my right cylinder outside of my tunica it tried to bulge. Still I think that with the largest Titan with 5cm rtes will give you much less than 2 inches loss in length. But you might lose that in girth.
