It looks like I may have to use injections due to my ED caused by a VED injury as it has not recovered.
I am wondering if there is anyway to prevent the fibrosis/scarring from these injections? I read a user said to hold
the injection site and apply pressure for a few minutes.
My penis is very prone to damage/fibrosis.
Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
Might want to consider using straight PGE -- my doc said the only injection patients he has implanted that haven't had scarring are those who used PGE vs Trimix which he said has Papaverine which can cause scarring and Peyronie's. BDloink may want to chime in -- he has had long term success with PGE.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.
Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
None of the injection mixes are risk free but straight PGE does seem to have a lower risk if it can be tolerated.

This is very interesting. I am new user of Trimix and love it's effect but worried about scarring.
Are there any negatives to using straight PGE-1 vs Trimix. Have you have had similar results with each?
Thank you.

Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
Yes, Trimix (vs PGE) is more likely to cause scarring or fibrosis. This can be minimized by spacing out injections, rubbing vigorously after injecting, switching injection locations and continued use of a VED daily. Some men, even after all this, still get scarring. It's roll of the dice, unfortunately.

Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
Straight PGE-1 has low risk of fibrosis but often causes pain.
Papaverine and phentolamine have a similar effect but don’t cause pain, so trimix adds these ingredients to reduce the amount of PGE-1 and therefore pain.
However, papaverine is acidic and that promotes fibrosis. Applying pressure can help by reducing bleeding but won’t change the acidity of papaverine.

Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
When it comes to fibrosis from injections it totally depends, some guys used Trimix for 20 years without problems, while others like me get deformed after just two injections, it depends on your luck
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years
Re: Preventing Fibrosis/Scarring from injections
fwiw, Dr Eid told me that the only patients he has implanted that didn't have some scarring from injections were the ones who used straight PGE. His surgical notes indicated the I was obliterated with scarring after only 8 months of Trimix usage.

Joe, did you have any curvature or hard spots? Any signs of scarring you could detect yourself?

Is there a way to examine yourself to determine if you are scaring? Or do they just find out during surgery when it is too late?
