How many did this alone?

Postby Red5150 » Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:17 pm

How many of you posting who have been implanted , did this journey alone? No wife, no gf, no husband, or SO? The reality is setting in that I’m probably at the end of my “rope” so to speak , and I either go this route or continue with ever increasing strength of injections until I run out of them. I would most likely go with Dr. Levine in Chicago whom I saw twice. If I do this I’m 100% on my own as far a recovery etc. I can get a ride but other then that, I’m it.

How bad was it for you solo guys? Mentally , physically , etc.

Thanks in advance.

I did mine alone. I few 1/2 way across the US and back again. Many of the implant specialty places have this set up. Not sure how close you are to your surgeon. The thing is that local care is best for this for aftercare. But if you were like me and local doctors are poor. None of mine did repairs or revisions. Part of the info given me by the business office was that many men had the device removed because results were so poor. And the men who I talked to that were implanted locally all said they lost at least an inch. There is a lot to cover for this and if you'd like you can send me a PM and we can set up a time to talk over the phone. If you are considering this for this year you should do everything you can to get in really good shape and manage any health conditions you have. And start VED exercise. There are some good papers on this in the general section of the documents worth reading thread.

Many of the well known high volume doctors in the US have men fly in from across the world so this is not uncommon for them to have men who are alone. You can also do a search on this board as this has been covered a number of times before.

Good luck going forward with this.

Up at the top left of this page just above the thread title (How many did this alone?) you will see "Board index < Implants. Click on Board index and that will take you to a list of all the other sections on this site. First one is introductions and under that is General Discussion. Click on that. When that board opens you will find pinned to the top of the threads "Documents worth reading list. Scroll down to the implants section and look for article on VED use. Down just before the VED section is Maintaining size before implant. Just a bit lower in the VED section is penis exercise.

Not me. One point is any out-patient surgery center will not release you unless you have someone to drive you. If you stay the night in a hospital, they will release you in the morning after removal of the catheter and drain bag. Next is driving, if you plan to drive it might hurt. I drove on day 5 and regretted it.

I did go alone to & from NYC. I had to pay for a person to bring me from the hospital to my hotel , which I walked to the hospital just around the block.

When I saw Eid on my own, I was up and out of there in 2 days to fly back half way across the US -- easy peasy. But that was with Eid ,though Levine also has a great reputation.
just my personal experience.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

Both of mine were alone.

1st time I was hours away from home. I stayed in a hotel 2-3 nights by myself and drive home. Hospital did not let me use an Uber to get to the hotel so I found a random person on Reddit who helped get me there.

2nd time was a 3 hour flight away. Stayed in a hotel room by myself 3-4 nights and then flew home. I hired a nurse to help me in the hotel room the first night only because the Dr required it.

I’m at day 13 post op and doing real well alone. I was fortunate to have a very close friend, a previous SO, take me to the hospital and back. She stayed with me for about 9 days. The doctor said I had to have someone with me for the first 24 hours; I could have paid someone to do that if I had to. I went home with a catheter and a drain hose that I had to remove at 24 hours; very easily done alone. The main benefit of having someone with me was to keep my ice bag fresh and prepare my meals so I didn’t have to stand up very much; and that was very helpful, but not mandatory. You said you have a ride available, that’s probably the biggest obstacle.

Prepare in advance to have more ice available then you think you will need! I was told to ice 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off for the first 48 hours. I found I liked 15 minutes on and 10 minutes off better, and it really helped with swelling and pain ( I had a penoscrotal incision). I’m still icing some now. Have a heating pad ready to go! I was told to start using heat after the 48 hours of ice. I ended up icing for 3 days before starting the heat; both are wonderful!

Prepare to have easily prepared food for at least 2 weeks, or more if possible; of course be wise about your diet to promote healing.

Think about all your normal choirs you will not be able to do for 2 to 3 weeks, and prepare to do them in advance. Cut the grass before surgery and then don’t worry about it. Do your laundry, clean your house, do enough grocery shopping for a month if you can. You may need to put a hold on your mail for a week.

It’s all about the logistics! You can absolutely make it happen all by yourself. You need to prepare to be laying down for a week with minimal getting up. Standing up made my scrotum feel like it was on fire. I’m laying on the couch writing this and I feel great.

As far as the psychological aspect of going through this alone, I would say I feel a little like I’m going through basic training again, preparing for my next mission. Or like I’m training for an important marathon that I expect to PR! I feel invigorated. I feel like my opportunities to find a wife have proliferated. I have moments of almost excitement. This is the beginning of a new phase of life. Perception is reality. Get excited. Make the most of whatever the day brings. Everything is an opportunity. You can absolutely do this!
