Post implant

Postby Markpt » Tue Jul 05, 2022 4:48 pm

Hey Guys,

Got my 3 piece implant on June 24. It’s now July 5 and feeling slightly more pain. Right out of surgery was extreme pain, then I felt better, now pain has increased slightly but only on left side where pump is. I also feel intermittent numbness in penis. My appointment with Dr Eid was for July 6 but he pushed it up to the 5th since I was complaining of more pain. I also have not started cycling yet. Had to much pain to start. Dr said I had no scar tissue and to hold off. Any thoughts? I’m worried about shrinkage, since I haven’t started cycling yet. Also worried something is wrong. Dr said pain should be going down not up. Any opinions?

Give it some time. You are still in the healing process. Your Dr. should have left you partially inflated. Cycling starts around week 4 thru 6.

My surgery was June 1st so a bit earlier but still recent. The Dr gives you a nerve block so I left the hospital ready for a marathon. Well that wears off. Pain/soreness was not a constant day by day improvement. A couple days I felt like I was going backwards (worse).

Took a good 25 - 30 days to see continual improvement. I am now 35 days post surgery and some nights I wake up with my dick feeling uncomfortable but all in all, substantially improved little by little. Of course running on the treadmill with the implant and pump gets sore as does riding a motorcycle.

It takes time. I also find I am more comfortable even sleeping, in a semi-inflated state. Fully flacid is more sore.

Just the natural healing process and we all heal differently.

I’m at 19 days post surgery. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t use a heating pad, which worked wonderfully! I was still using an ice bag too until day 15 or 16, a couple times a day, and that was great too, but the heat was better at that point. I’ve also been taking a 40 minute bath each night before bed starting on day 11. The baths really help too. My instructions were to start “warm baths” after day 7; I thought that was too early so I waited an extra several days.

At this point I’m doing really good, better than I thought I would, and I had the penoscrotal procedure.

Good luck!

My Doctor actually recommends cycling if possible as soon as the catheter comes out on day 3. No way that was possible. yes I believe im partially inflated. But i just spoke to him and he said by day 7 after surgery pain should lessen, so im going in to see him. Thanks for your input.

I see. Can you provide the device Dr. Eid placed and was this a infrapubic or a penoscrotal procedure? Are you still icing?

Hi sgarza,

I don't know but im going in tomorrow and will ask. They gave me a model of a coloplast pump., if that tells you anything. Im no longer icing. I was told to start taking warm baths after day 3 when i removed the catheter. Im still having considerable pain and im on day 18 post op. My pain was mainly in groin where the tube runs and also left testicle. That's where the pump is. Also my pain is moving now to left side of penis. Is that normal? Dr Eid said pain should start lessening after day 7 and i haven't started cycling so im concerned. What do you think?
