Realistic Expectation?
Hey everyone, new user here. I have an appointment coming up soon to see if I'm a candidate for an implant. Also wanting to know what the root cause of my ED is. I've read there is an ultrasound type test to see if its a leakage issue, etc. At any rate, here is my question. If I use a VED now, is it reasonable to expect/think that my penis after implant will be similar as far as length/girth while using VED? Or is that just completely irrelevant? Thanks in advance.
49, diagnosed with HP at 32. ED started a couple of years after. Pills used to work, eventually less and less. Looking into becoming bionic early next year

I think what matters more is your surgeon. A good surgeon can keep your length , while a bad surgeon can leave you with floppy glans. I think making sure you’re choosing the right doctor and making sure he is a high volume surgeon is most important

Re: Realistic Expectation?
My experience with VED use before implant is that my size inside the VED cylinder was a good 3/4" or more longer and girtheir (could not really measure gurth) than my best natural erecion. It just makes sense to me that the pressure differential exterior vs interior that inflates the penile tissues is essentially supercharged (analgous to a car engine being supercharged to perform far more powerfully than its normally aspirated cubic inches would normally allow).
My size after implant was exacty the same as my pre-implant best size. The additional 3/4 to 1" the VED induced was no more natural than lifts in my shoes.

I’m meeting with dr Brady here in Orlando, Fl. Seems to be highly regarded from what I’ve been reading/researching. What I was referring to is what my thing looks like while using the ved. Not sure if it can be like that post op or not. Just thinking out loud I suppose. If it stayed close to that, would be awesome.

If you expect your implanted penis to look anything like it looks inside a VED vacuum chamber (plumped up like a vacuum can do), that would be the quintessential unrealistic expectation.
The VED draws blood into all the penile tissues. The implant only inflates itself. Essentially just stiffening only the tunica albuginea and providing some (but probably not 100%) of all the volume of the corpus cavernosum (which is no longer working properly).
The implant is a mere shadow of what a fully functional corpus cavernosum (but a pretty good one). The implant does nothing for the other tissues of the penis (the corpus spongiosum). The VED inflates EVERYTHING, even a non-functioning corpus cavernosum as well as the spongiosum - and actually better than one's own blood flow can. It is, after all a machine and not limited by normal human organic potential. It can do more (even dangerously more).

that’s what I was wondering. Honestly not sure what to expect, just curious/anxious

Once the pump comes off and stays that hard, would that still be unrealistic?

Don't be anxious, or worried. If you don't overdo the vacuum, you will be OK.
I used a VED before implant. One partner remarked, when she saw my penis inside the chamber, "Impressive". Yes, it was significantly larger inside the chamber than before implant or after implant. But my implanted penis is (while never as large as the implant makes it) is every bit as large as it was before E.D. and as fully functional as ever in its erectile ability.

I hear the doctor Brady is excellent. But I don't know anyone that has used him. Just ask him 4A generous measurement during your operation. If he says no that will cause erosion like my doctor did red flag red flag red flag : I used v e d before and after my surgery. It softened my tissue making the operation very easy. I also discovered that until you can hold a length with your v e d for several weeks you can't flaccid stretch it. If you can flaccid stretch it then so can your doctor during your operation but whether he will or not that's another question entirely good luck let us know how it goes with Brady. He is the Fix-It doctor in the Orlando area

Judgement call. Your spongiosum and your corpus cavernosum both will be engorged when you remove the vacuum and how quickly the spongiosum disengorges/softens is independent of how quickly your corpus cavernosum tissue deflates.
This is my opinion/speculation of how the hydraulics of erection works. So, take this with a grain of salt.
