I am hearing many mixed sides of the implant discussion at a young age. I hear “you should definitely go other routes and not have the invasive surgery route at your age” even when it’s been years of trying with no good results. I am hearing this from people with ED problems on here at young ages and older ages. And then I am hearing young and older guys also say they wish they would have done it sooner and that’s their only regret.
So those of you who are against or recommend not having it at a young age, why? If you’ve tried for years and years and things dont seem to work, why do you recommend not getting surgery when the success rate is so good? Is it because the weeks/months of recovery of having the implant and the small risk of infection is a worse deal then being impotent everyday at a young age? Or even older individuals for that matter? I want to know why I am hearing both sides to this. It seems like everyone who’s had it done, recommends it, and those who haven’t had it but have ED problems are the ones I am hearing say don’t get it.
As always, I love hearing the other side of those of you who recommend it as well. I want to hear both sides and why.
Thank you

This is all just one guys opinion...FWIW. I think the curse of ED at a young age makes the negative impact on your life, and self-esteem all the worse. And it's difficult for all men, regardless of age. My feelings on getting an implant are positive IF you have exhausted all of the other options, such as Viagra, VED, and injections. If they all failed, the implant is the last option for a satisfying sex life. Have you tried all of the standard treatments? Also, know that if you get the implant young you will most likely need revisions over the years, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Good luck and do your research.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

Re: Implant at young age or not?
I can offer you both sides of the game. When my ED began I took Viagra, They worked for a while, then the bad side effects started on top of not working. Found injection, same thing, they worked for a while then began to fail. The crappy part of either method is it made sex a planned thing.
Two years after injections wouldn't work anymore, I went in for my implant. My recovery was tough, I hurt for 5 months. My guess is a reaction to the antibiotic impregnated on the cylinders that made my shaft feel sunburned. I couldn't do any follow up since COVID just hit and doctors were not available. Once all the healing was done and I got used to this new thing in my crotch I couldn't be happier.
My only wish is that I had found FT a long time ago and skipped through the pills and needles straight to the implant. But that's human nature, put a band aid on it first until it breaks again.
As a young guy the benefit of getting an implant now will be future revisions. New technology will emerge in implants, making them more user friendly and last longer.

I am 40 and just got my implant and had ED all my life. I did wish I knew about this atleast 10-15 yrs before ( I am married for 14).. I would have definitely gotten it sooner. Do whats best for you. Again we all wish we use the real deal but have to compromise but never regret. Doing it early would mean multiple revisions in your life time- Are you ready for it?

I’ve tried all but injections and vacuum and I don’t want to. Sounds like most who use those eventually fail. I rather know things are going to work and at least be somewhat spontaneous and normal versus injecting and then coming back to the bedroom and she is already sleeping.. lol you get the point. 10 years has been long enough. To answer, I think I am
Ready for many revisions. What is 1-4 months of recovery every let’s say 9 years or so versus being embarrassed and ashamed and depressed over not having a fulfilling sex life anymore? That’s my thoughts anyway.. thank you for The feedback

I love you are able to offer both sides and also conclude it with what you would have done.. helps me a lot! 5 months of pain sounds worth it! And good point on future revisions.. I also hear the process is easier after the first time.. not sure it’s it’s true or not. Also, I don’t want injections or vacuum as I’ve stated above. Just want my life back and confidence after 10 years of this. It all
Started after my 5th concussion. Not sure if it’s related but my head trauma did cause bladder issues for a long time but eventually subsided… erections unfortunately cannot be sustained lomg tho even with pills. And I’ve tried viagra and cialis. 3 relationships later and 1 month away from proposing the last one that ended.. I’m ready to take action. Appointment tomorrow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester!

How are things going for you so far bionicbrother? I see you had it done only 3 months ago or so.. how quickly were you having sex? See a big improvement in your marriage?

Re: Implant at young age or not?
Another consideration is that I have never seen mentioned is: as we age it seems like males still have quite a bit of libdo and wifes may be a totally different story. This is, of course, what I hear from friends.
It is my suspicion that if the implant were done before being old enough to get senior discounts the sexually compatibility issues / libido has a much better chance of being resolved.
By any chance, does anyone have any suggestions I can share with this friend?
Please, only a quick comment as this young man doesn't need his thread screwed up...so to speak.
Up4Real? Yes, now I can confirm w/o the question mark
