Reasons 2 wait are like mentioned replacement or revisions will be eminent after hopefully a long while, which can be expensive. Implants are permanent and making sure other options are exhausted is important so there's no regrets.
But waiting may give you unreplaceable years of no sex. And if you go a certain length of time without erections there may be some loss of size.
Personally I wished I could've and would've done it a couple decades or so earlier. This was my first surgery so I was very apprehensiveness, and my size is much smaller than long ago, but it's coming back. Being able to have sex again is worth the recovery which varies from person to person. So if you can't enjoy sex with any other method, it might be a good option.

Depends on what you mean by young. I got mine at 36 finally. I wish I’d gotten it at 32. I can’t get those years back But I can make up for it now. :D

quote="Minnesota#2"]I am hearing many mixed sides of the implant discussion at a young age. I hear “you should definitely go other routes and not have the invasive surgery route at your age” even when it’s been years of trying with no good results. I am hearing this from people with ED problems on here at young ages and older ages. And then I am hearing young and older guys also say they wish they would have done it sooner and that’s their only regret.

So those of you who are against or recommend not having it at a young age, why? If you’ve tried for years and years and things dont seem to work, why do you recommend not getting surgery when the success rate is so good? Is it because the weeks/months of recovery of having the implant and the small risk of infection is a worse deal then being impotent everyday at a young age? Or even older individuals for that matter? I want to know why I am hearing both sides to this. It seems like everyone who’s had it done, recommends it, and those who haven’t had it but have ED problems are the ones I am hearing say don’t get it.

As always, I love hearing the other side of those of you who recommend it as well. I want to hear both sides and why.

Thank you[/quote]

I love you are able to offer both sides and also conclude it with what you would have done.. helps me a lot! 5 months of pain sounds worth it! And good point on future revisions.. I also hear the process is easier after the first time.. not sure it’s it’s true or not. Also, I don’t want injections or vacuum as I’ve stated above. Just want my life back and confidence after 10 years of this. It all
Started after my 5th concussion. Not sure if it’s related but my head trauma did cause bladder issues for a long time but eventually subsided… erections unfortunately cannot be sustained lomg tho even with pills. And I’ve tried viagra and cialis. 3 relationships later and 1 month away from proposing the last one that ended.. I’m ready to take action. Appointment tomorrow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester!

Thanks, hope my story answers some of your questions. Hope you Mayo Clinic appointment helped too.
As far as revisions, most say they are easier than the initial surgery.
Took me close to ten years of pills and injections that eventually failed before taking the final step. Wish I had those ten years back.

I’m speaking from my personal journey only but I would’ve loved to be implanted when I was younger. I was always a quick cummerbund and to be able to keep going as long as she could handle is very appealing to me as I’ve always wanted to be a pleaser in the bedroom. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yes its been fantastic so far. I started sex like in 5 weeks primarily due to the fact that I got circumcision done too which took more time to heal than the implant itself and yes our relationship has been never been better. I always had a happy married life my wife never complained(bless me) but this improvement in life is something- never knew my wife liked sex so much haha( she like in content in life- if I have it I am happy, if I dont I am still happy)
40 yrs old. Have ED and PE all my life. Never had penetrative sex all my life. Tried almost all kinds of options( pills, injections, natural therapies etc. Turned Bionic on May 17'22 with Titan by Dr.Karpman infrapubic approach.16cm+2 RTE

I will Be making further updates on a new post that will be titled “27 yr old ED and transplant journey”. And yes, I am getting transplanted by Dr. KOHLER out of Rochester Mayo. Outstanding guy and couldn’t feel more comfortable and happy with my decision. He said the plumbing wasn’t working and it wasn’t in my head. Venous leak.

Excited to share my journey with everyone. I will post a new thread soon

I spoke to Dr Irwin Goldstein and he told me that I was too young for implant. Other guys with ED have mixed opinions, some say to hold myself for a better type of implant in the future and others say to do the implant. I am also very confused in what to decide. I have a job that is very physical and doing this type of surgey will literally incapacitate me for more than a month.
