Thoughts/suggestions for managed ED that has returned

Hi all,

I wanted to see if anyone out there has experienced similar situation or had any meaningful feedback/suggestions.

Long story short....I experienced ED from as early as 18, when I became sexually active. I have always been lean/athletic, athletic, and ate a fairly clean diet. Near my late 20s, I bought sildenafil from AllDayChemist, and it worked beautifully for about 5 years. 25-100mg depending on the occasion resulted in a ROCK HARD erection, like something I could hang a bath towel off. I went through a rough breakup around 2 years ago and the effects of the viagra stopped completely overnight. I went on a date a few weeks after the breakup, went back to her place and was only able to achieve a weak erection that subsided quickly. I know depression/anxiety has a tremendous impact on sex life, but 2 years later and I feel I am in a good mental space but still no results with sildenafil. I can confidently say I have not achieved an erection nearly as strong as pre-breakup, and I have been with some drop dead gorgeous women trying. No spontaneous/morning erections whatsoever, occasional 50-70% erection if I wake up in middle of the night

I saw a urologist regarding this and he basically said take more of the medication, and wrote me prescription for both sildenafil and tadalafil. No deeper digging into why a healthy 35yo would be experiencing this. We did test testosterone/hormone levels and everything came back normal. The strangest thing about this whole process...pre-breakup viagra would result in mild headache, face flushing, congestion etc, this was kind of my way of knowing it was kicking in and it was time to go. Post-breakup, I have not experienced these side effects one, single time. This really made me question if the med was being properly absorbed in my stomach. I even took 350mg sildenafil and 20mg tadalafil at once (I understand the risk), did not experience a single side effect and only mild erection, I would have assumed this would have killed me a few years ago (I have used meds from different pharmacies/batches during this stretch).

Any idea what I should do next or what can help?

The only suggestion I have is to find a Urologist more interested in diagnosing the problem and determining a solution.

Hello. My apologies to Pssdoraminormal, but in my opinion, arn727 is talking about something completely different. With sourness it is not related to age. I know very well how Viagra (sildanafil) can stop working in 24 hours and this is not related to the worsening of the problems, because we are talking about a difference of 24 hours. I knew that feeling too - side effects = erection. The drugs stopped working for me within 24 hours. side effects too. No one can convince me that in 24-48 hours, the ED got so bad that nothing worked. This is nonsense.

Not sure what you are meaning. What is "sourness"?
Anyway all ED pills have a certain half life or time period that they are working.
I was just pointing out that it has been my experience that there are variations among the generics. Comparing 10mg of one of my tadalafil to two 5mg from Walmart tells me something is up. The ones from Walmart gave me mild headache, which has always been a recognizable side effect for me. The other pills don't seem to have any effect at all in any way that I can see or feel. So no I'm not saying ED would dramatically worsen within 24-48 hours. Some pills work and some apparently do not.

I mean that the same drug - the same brand, taken in the same way (without food and alcohol), at the same time of the day, in a period of 1-2 weeks stops working and all side effects disappear after taking it. For example - 1.1.2022 - at 22:00 I take 100 mg of Sildanafil and I have a strong erection that continues. I have strong side effects after that - blocked nose, red face, blue vision and others .... the same medicine, taken on 10.1.2022 at 10.00 pm, 100 mg, does not give me an erection, there are ABSOLUTELY no side effects. It's like I drank vinamine C.

Were the pills from the same bottle same batch?
After you took the dose that failed, did anything happen much later in the day? Just wondering if something you had eaten delayed the process of the medicine working.

I can attest that I've run into similar situations, that has left me wondering if my pills are plaster or just a placebo. I have always responded to Viagra from my urologist and generic 20mg sildenafil from Kroger Pharmacy. However I notice my most recent purchase of 50mg sildenafil online is questionable.

Absolutely the same batch. Since I'm on a diet - the same food. Alcohol-free. Absolutely nothing happened later in the day. I think it has something to do with NO or testosterone. But I really have no idea
