Re: Airport Implant Experience
I've been thru checkpoints at many airports for well well over 50 trips and never once had an issue or question at all. Not once.

Walked through the scanner where you stop and raise your arms up. The woman asked if I have a medical device, I said yes, they then hand wand scanned me and quickly sent me on my way. There was an image on a screen of my body and you could clearly see the reservoir outlined in color. No other outline or colors around my penis.
I wonder if the scanner picked up the saline? Were you completely deflated? Your experience added to by my speculation suggests asking men experiencing TSA scrutiny what degree of inflation/deflation they were at the time.
Yes, definitely completely deflated. The screen image showed an outline of body and yellow highlight in my lower left upper pelvis, clearly the reservoir. No highlighted area otherwise, so the pump/cylinders did not illuminate. After reading up on some of the technologies involved, it may be bioimpedance spectroscopy/BIS, apparently a newer technique to measure the volume of fluid in various parts of the body. I use pre-check always and typically that's just a quick sprint through the magnetometer, although sometimes you get the full body scan. This happened as I said in Germany where there's no TSA/pre-check occuring and who knows, perhaps different equipment with different capabilities.

Re: Airport Implant Experience
why the huge discrepancy on this issue? some say never and others are often and them sometimes? it must be simply the TSA discretion. it certainly isn't from the saline or the materiel. there's much less metal n this then my Tag Heuer and its never been an issue. Its an issue with me when i fly with co workers and family. I guess it'll be pre TSA from here on out?
I do have an ID card...i just assumed that would handle it.
