High testosterone question
High testosterone question
Gentlemen, I just had my testosterone tested for the first time in probably 20+ years. My urologist was stunned at how high it is, at the age of 68. My total T is 743 and my free T is 14.3. Normal range for free T is 3.47-13.0. And that is with a mid-afternoon test and no fasting. My question for you guys with more knowledge/experience is that with a family history of prostate cancer. on both sides, am I at greater risk for prostate cancer given my age and high levels? I have my PSA checked regularly. Curious more than concerned.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

Re: High testosterone question
These are from a couple online searches. I would continue with 3--6 month, PSA checks to be on the safe side. Early detection is always best. Hope this helps.
Excess testosterone in men can result from testicular or adrenal tumors. Even if these tumors are benign – that is, they aren't malignant or cancerous – they can still boost testosterone levels to unhealthy levels, as can steroid use and abuse.
Looking at the population as a whole, the researchers say their findings correspond to a 25% greater risk in men who have the highest levels of IGF-I, compared to those with the lowest. Men with the highest 'free' testosterone levels face a 18% greater risk of prostate cancer, compared to those with the lowest levels.

I'm not clear on whether or not my levels are dangerous, but at my age they seem abnormally high, and with my family history, it is at the very least to me, worrisome. The saving grace here, I guess, is that I already have my implant and wouldn't have to go through the whole ED nightmare again.

I feel great, prostate is sensitive, and I thoroughly enjoy massage/manipulation, sometimes to mind blowing orgasm. My doctor was amazed at my levels given my age but didn't express any concern.
