So this may be the source of the information your doctor was speaking. The tubing from the cylinders to the pump and reservoir and the pump it's self is another thing all together.
Did your doctor give you a specific cycling protocol?
I was given a specific protocol and of course i don't have to cycle 9-10 times a day.
However, based on what i read here, i think that the "millions of cycle" advertising is nothing more than a gigantic bullshit.
As a young man i feel that using the device with a costant frequency of more than 7-8 weekly inflations would lead to an early failure. When you have high T, libido and an attractive girl at your side is a huge limitation.
You guys have all been young and you know that there are periods when you have sex 2-3 times a day for months, maybe years. With an implant this is absolutely impossible unless you are willing to go under the knife every 2-3 years. Even the latter would be unrealistic for obvious medical and surgical reasons.
I agree that millions of cycles sure seems overly optimistic. Geez, even a milion thrusts has to be a lot of sex.
I wouldn't mind wearing an implant out if it meant that I had lots of sex to do it. I could argue that I wore my natural dick out after 40 plus years of hard use. So what if I wear out an implant in 5 years, perhaps even 3. I'll never be younger than I am today. But I can get a new penis on relatively short notice. So what if I'm in discomfort for a month or two. I'll have a nice new penis, perhaps a cm or 2 longer. My insurance will pay for it also. I'm not seeing a huge down side to that.
If you're afraid about revisions or getting a replacement implant? It's guaranteed that if you don't get an implant. None of your fears will come true.
