Sorry. That had to be frustrating. My surgeon said the second he opens me up again he pulls everything out. There’s no sense in risking it. I was hoping it was just a hematoma because I had little pain at first but starting yesterday it started to hurt and tonight I’m in some real pain. Looking forward to the surgery tomorrow. My right testicle is beyond full.

My amateur opinion. If there is any signs of infection. The only wise thing to do is to remove as many of the implant parts as possible. There is no way to tell which parts are contaminated. Having said that, I think that removing the reservoir isn't done very often. There must be some reason for that. But I don't know what it is. Perhaps the male genitals don't get enough blood flow in order for the body to fight the infection very well. Meaning that the reservoir area must get better blood flow.
As for the malleable. I wonder if showers get a longer maleable than a grower might get? Would a surgeon be less worried about erosion on a shower patient?
I do wish the OP the best of luck with this.

It's harder to remove the reservoir from what I've read. Apparently some doctors either try to use the old one or just leave it when during a revision to avoid complications.

I just had the surgery this morning and I’m recuperating at the hospital for observation overnight due to the severity of the infection. I have the malleable implant in now. I have to say for first observation. I didn’t lose any size, but I also take into account that there’s going to be a certain amount of swelling that’s adding to it. I’m not keen on touching it too much right now especially with the catheter in. But from what I feel, it’s extremely rigid And as natural feeling as I can be while I’m in the state of recovery. I love the three-piece, but I have to be honest with you if I can make this work and be happy with it I may stay with it. I generally have a lot of sexual partners, and this would suit me pretty well For the lifestyle I live. I’ll probably do a follow up on what it’s like to have a malleable since we don’t have a whole lot of that on the site I can tell you out of all this the thing I’m most happy about is not having a testicle a size of an avocado .

Great to hear - will definitely be following your journal and post here! I think many of us will benefit from the knowledge in case we are ever faced with a similar situation.

Glad it went well, and yes, for sure if the malleable worked with you, then why would you go under the knife again? Just enjoy it.
