Welcome north ! It’s a decision that can be very life changing ! Tough one to make initially , give yourself time to heal , follow the doc’s advise . Hopefully your recovery is a speedy and issue free one !

FT is a wealth of information , and lots of support from those who have been here .

You are correct it is a tough decision, but once I made it I was ready. Following docs instruction and feeling ok.........for now.

Thanks for posting your experience. As of right now, I'll be a 58yo getting an implant with Dr. Clavell in a few months.

How was your flight home? I'll probably have the surgery on a Wednesday and fly home on Friday morning. Dr. Clavell recommends that timing so the nerve block is still working on your groin for the ride.

Hey Jage64, My flight home was about 3 hours and surprisingly it pretty much pain free. A sharp pains by the pump and reservoir, but very minor. The never block is working, it scares me of how I am going to feel when it wears off.

I followed the exact schedule you are, Wednesday surgery and flew home on Friday. I flew in Tuesday to get pre-registered at hospital.

I had my Coloplast Titan implanted last March. It was very painful for the first 3 days, then got better daily for the next two weeks. My implant works like magic and is still a little sore where I pump. I pump daily for 20 minutes to an hour.
Would do it over in a heartbeat.

Forever_Young, appreciate it. So far it was been ok, just sharpe pains around the pump. I am looking forward to getting my implant working like magic!

Another interesting comment that Dr. Clavell shared with me after our conversation after the surgery. I asked him about using VED post-surgery. He is not a big fan of using VED with the implant, which I know varies with other high-volume docs. He thought you got an implant, so you don't need to do anything else. He also said you don't concern yourself with ED anymore. Just use your penis for urination and sex. Go live your life and concentrate on other things. That was a good conversation.

I flew from Houston to Tokyo. 15 hour flight. Zero pain. Used standard seats plus a $200 upgrade for extra leg room. Non issue. Only small issue I had was going through TSA where they admired the doctor's handiwork.
