Brutal facts here, guys

1. Once your prostate is removed, your hard-on is over with forever.
2. Don't think any pill, vacuum device, injection or anything else for that matter is going to work very long, or work at all.
3. You may get some "engorgement" but nothing that you can actually use in a sexual setting.
4. Anybody telling you different is lying to you.

If your prostate has to be removed, you basically have no other option than an implant.
I tried everything and every parlour truck imaginable.
Nothing worked for penetrative sex.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but these are the facts the Prostate surgeons won't tell you.

As Mikedsy said, impotence after prostate surgery/removal is not 100% guaranteed. Nerve-sparing surgery sometimes (sorry, I don't have complete statistics) can preserve erectile ability. It is not guaranteed to and it usually takes months to recover erections.

Prostate removal DOES end the ejaculation of semen (but not production of sperm).

The outlook is not good, but not as dismal as HikerMan's post.

You can put me on this list too, September 20, 2022, implanted at UCI by Dr. Yafi and I could not be happier.

Recovery has been a piece of cake, best recommendation I have is to lie flat as you can for the first few days, then move to the recliner, but limit sitting and standing.

As of today, I am 14 weeks out of surgery and I must say, it really does get better every time we use it! We knocked one off this morning and it was the best one yet! Everything was just as normal as before, great sensitivity and my wife still says, "I can't tell the difference." The best part is neither one of us is worried about losing the erection so we can take our time and really enjoy it, in that regard it is better than it ever has been and we have been doing it for 55 years! I love it and my wife loves it!

IF you need an implant in order to have penetrative sex, have no fear of getting an implant, if you put it off you are only losing a lot of quality sex.
Used Viagra & Cialis until lost vision in one eye due to AION, therefore can never use pills again, then tri-mix 1 1/2 years until unreliable. Implanted 9/20/22 at 77 years old by Dr. Yafi, UC Irvine. Married 55 years wife 76. 20cm Coloplast Titan.

After reading of all the unfortunate post-op issues, swelling, soreness, unable to use for months, etc.
I hit a grand slam with my surgeon search with Dr. Blick in Scottsdale. Initial visit in May. Surgery mid July.
Day 2 remove drain & catheter. Partial deflate 50%. Very little pain. Scrotal bruising for 7 days. Day 10 remove staples, check pump location. Day 20, cycle instructions, Green light for sex. Couldn't drive home fast enough (2 hrs) !! The spontaneity is amazing. She's says "pump up that Joystick" and away we go. Not possible with pills, pumps, injections. Like most of you, should have done this ages ago!!
The usual pills, injections of increasing strength until the ache was too much and ineffective. 66 yrs old. Implanted 7/14/22 Dr Blick, Scottsdale. AMS CX 21cm+2cmRTE. Infrapubic. Back in the saddle 8/3/21. We could not be happier with the result!

I was implanted last week (Dec 22) by a high volume surgeon. I still have lots of swelling and my scrotum looks like a purple grapefruit. I'm resting and using lots of ice and it gets a little better each day. The Dr doesn't want me to do anything until I see him again at the 6 week mark then he will show me how to use it in his office.

For now.....we wait!

Implanted on 8/23/22, so it’s been four months since my surgery. Had an uneventful recovery, outside of expected swelling, discoloration and tenderness for a few weeks. Began cycling and resumed sex 21 days after surgery. Am absolutely thrilled with the results. No size loss. No hassles with meds anymore. Everything works as it always did, maybe better. Glad to have joined this brotherhood! All of your comments/stories were really helpful.
Implanted 8/23/22. Coloplast Titan 20cm, no RTE’s, infrapubic. Married 40 years.

I take it that you lost all erectile capacity with your prostate removal. Sorry to hear that. Not everyone gets lucky, even with the best surgeon, nerve-sparing and exercising the best skills. I did not intend to discount or question your experience.
