Scrotum still swollen....can't tell where pump is located
I had my implant surgery Dec 22. At first my balls were very swollen and black and blue. The skin on my penis also swelled up around the head of my penis. Things are getting back to normal, but my scrotum is still swollen. The left side is fairly normal, but the right side where the pump is still feels fairly "dense", for lack of a better word. There is no way I can even begin to feel any details about the pump. My scrotum is still very sensitive to the touch. My first visit with the Dr since the surgery is Jan 31 where he's going to show me how to use the pump. The way it feels now I can't imagine someone squeezing on my scrotum. Sure hope a lot changes between not and the 31st!

I was similar, so you are a slow healer at least in the nut sac areas lol.
Ice baby ice! Stay out of bath tub! Do not compare your progress with tat of others. Guessing you didn’t get a drain tube, we both should have had one im thinking but too late for that.
It will be ok, hit the ice.
Good luck cb

Re: Scrotum still swollen....can't tell where pump is located
Even though my scrotum didn’t swell up that badly, it was disconcerting to probe around in there (it was sore, and bruised) looking for the pump especially the deflate button. I had my model pump nearby to continually try to re-orient myself. I kept trying to cycle and do all the right things but now you know why I made 6 trips to the doctors office within first two weeks. Post-surgical support visits were considered part of the surgery fee so I got my insurance company’s moneys worth.
No two guys are alike. Where I had the longest lasting swelling was right above my dick, at the pubic bone. It didn’t really disappear completely until several months had passed. And I’ve always been considered a quick healer. Once that swelling went away and I could get a proper measurement, it was like I gained 1/2-3/4 inch of dick instantly. If only it were that simple.
Bottom line: if you have no infection, and your body is making progress healing it’s just taking its time, be patient. I know it’s tough. In a year you’ll look back at all this and chuckle. At 3 years you won’t even remember what it was like to have ED.

We all heal differently, some guys have little or no pain, lucky dudes. I hurt pretty good for the first few weeks. Hang in there, it will get better. Three years down the road I remember the healing part, don't want to repeat it. (but if I HAD to, I would)

Re: Scrotum still swollen....can't tell where pump is located
Livingston,
I consider my recovery to be about as "normal" as it gets, your recovery is at the exact same place my recovery was up until about the 4th week. At 4 weeks I had my office checkup, where I was shown how to use the Coloplast Classic pump and was given a keychain model of it with instructions. The model really helped me to understand how it works.
At the 4-week check, the PA asked me to pump it a few times, which I did, then demonstrate that could deflate, then he gave me instructions to begin cycling. I tried it a few times at home and my scrotum felt like it was on fire, so much so I stopped cycling and waited another week to begin. That week wait between 4 and 6 weeks made a huge difference.
At four weeks my scrotum was very inflamed, the skin of my scrotum on the inside was swollen and painful, it literally felt like it was on fire, and would be pinched between my fingers and the pump causing a lot of pain.
At 2 1/2 weeks I think you are about as normal as can be. I am assuming you had penal-scrotal incision as I did. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't be touching my scrotum at all, let it cool down. If you insist on messing with it at this point you are only going to make it worse and delay your healing.
Trust me, you are doing fine, it takes time to heal and there is no way to rush it. As your scrotum heals it will begin to relax, don't be in a rush to cycle, any early messing around with it is just going to delay your recovery.

Thanks, sounds familiar.
My surgery was infrapubic, not scrotal. I feel safe trying to feel around my scrotum trying to gently feel the pump.

Hi, I had my implant done on the 20th of December and am experiencing the same thing as you. Doctor told me at my two week appointment I have a hematoma and it should dissolve itself. I have read on FT from others that heat, ice and compression helps. I have used all three, seems like the warmth from a shower helps me the most for me. Compression from a jock strap also has helped. The past two days it seems to be getting better. Might try a heating pad to speed things up. My start cycling day is the 17th I sure hope it’s softened by then. God luck, I hope you keep posting.

Re: Scrotum still swollen....can't tell where pump is located
OK....more clarification. My surgery was not penoscrotal, it was infrapubic. There are no sutures in my scrotum, so I feel safe to gently try to find the pump. My first follow up appointment is 6 weeks after surgery on Jan 31. The Dr wanted my to point my penis downward as much as possible because of scar tissue. He did not give me a jock strap or any other instructions for aftercare. Lots of people suggest icing, but that is usually only effective for 2-3 days following injury (surgery) to help control swelling. Afterwards, heat is more effective. I did have 2 Jackson-Pratt drains that my wife removed 24 hours after surgery as per MD orders. Because I am supposed to point the penis downward, I find going commando is more comfortable than wearing underwear. Might need to soak in the hot tub more often to try to help reduce this swelling.
