What are you pleasantly surprised about when finally going bionic (having an implant)? This could be both mental and physical.
And what caught you off guard, in other words, what was more challenging than you expected it to be?
Pleasantly surprised
Re: Pleasantly surprised
Hmmm good question... I am pleasantly surprised how hard the pump gets and how easy it is to do now 4 weeks post op.
What I found challenging...... I guess the pump being so high. Feels in the way and hoping it drops. Hut very happy overall

Good to hear! I’m 11 days post op and 60% activated. Cycling begins sometimes between weeks 4-6, depending on how my scrotum has healed. Curious about your high pump. We’re you infrapubic or penoscrotal? I was penoscrotal. Had considered infrapubic but was a bit concerned about the pulling-down that particular doctor said i’d need to do. My pump seems perfectly placed now. I can feel it resting behind my balls forward of the perinium.

Re: Pleasantly surprised
Back to the OP’s question. I’m only 11 days post op so can’t comment on length, performance, etc. But what i CAN comment on is how little pain i’ve felt post surgery so far. I expected so much worse. It was almost dread going in. To date, i’ve only taken 1 pain pill and 3 Tylenol. Last night i wore jeans for the first time post surgery (my 60% activated penis pinned up against my body with biker compression shorts) and joined some friends for dinner at a local restaurant.
I’m still a bit sore sitting, and the restaurant chairs were hard, but overall it was so good to feel confident enough to return to the outside world again.

Re: Pleasantly surprised
I was surprised at how little pain , swelling and bruising I had. Almost non existent. I did ice ice ice the first 4-6 days. I was surprised at how hard it was to find a way to be comfortable for the first 3-4 months in anything except sweats or being naked.I was disappointed for first 3-5 months at how short and small my dick felt and looked…. But… at 6-7 months I was back to my original size. It takes a lot of exercising and pumping to get back. Think I might have been undersized a cm or 2. But got it stretched out to wheee I love it now! I’m surprised at how rock hard this thing gets when fully pumped up! Talking like a rock or steel! Just a few of my ups and downs.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
Re: Pleasantly surprised
Unexpected was the horrible pain I had right after. The meds doc gave me did nothing to ease any pain and made me nauseous. About two weeks in he gave me Percocet which helped the pain but made me so constipated that was another hurt to deal with. LOL
Surprised on how well it works. Since the only thing I knew about implants going in was it would allow me erections again, once I was able to inflate and deflate the implant comfortably, I was happy for how easy it was. Pills and injections always took time, planning or killed the mood so being able to pump up for sex in less than a minute whenever has been the best change since this damn ED began.

I'm penoscrotal (ams pump) I had no aftercare as such my consultant didn't see me after or before my procedure (uk nhs care) so wasn't the to pull down on the pump to make it ait lower etc.
I think it's starting to move down more now but they wouldn't be able to go back in surgically until after 6 months anyway so I think by then I'll be good we shall see.
I'm cycling twice a day to try and regain size. Started at week 3ish and now doing twice a day try for an hour each time maybe a little under.
Happy to share pics etc if you'd like to see scar and sizing then PM me

Can I ask where on the NHS you had your implant surgery?
I ask as I am going through the NHS process now and hoping to get a referral to London this week rather than Sheffield.
Thanks
Re: Pleasantly surprised
Here are a few things that surprised me. It has been just 4 1/2 weeks since my surgery. I expected that the pain would be worse than it was. Thank goodness it was minor.
I also just got the clearance from Dr. Clavell to start cycling. After two days of cycling, it is slightly better and easier each time I cycle.
It has been a challenge to determine how inflated I am. After several pumps, the pump gets hard, and I usually continue until I feel pain. Finding the deflate button has also been challenging, but I am getting the hang of it.
