The time is quickly approaching for me to join the bionic brotherhood. I’ll admit that I have pre-surgery nerves but that’s to be expected. On the other hand I’m very excited and ready to start this new chapter.
Scheduled for surgery Friday morning. I check in at the hospital at 5:30 am as I am scheduled to be the first surgery of the day. The surgeon will be installing the AMS 700 CX model.
I plan on updating this post to keep everyone informed of my progress. I’m thankful to everyone for sharing their experiences and advice on this forum. I have learned so much.

Thank you for the insight my friend. Not really looking forward to having a catheter but hopefully it won’t be in long. I keep reading that the moments leading up to the surgery are worse than the actual surgery so that’s a relief.
Which model did you end up with?

Best of luck to you Elfoose78,
Nervous is normal. It was my first surgery as an adult, talk about being nervous!
Once you heal it'll be the best thing ever.

I wish i made your choice, because there are so many reasons NOT to get a Choloplast, cheap shitty product that appears never to have gotten out of test mode.

Thanks! This will be my third surgery overall as an adult. Still nervous. Wow! Your first surgery was a big one. Kudos to you for your bravery.

My surgeon made the choice for me. I would’ve preferred the AMS 700 LGX for additional length but I trust his judgment.

Hey brother,
I posted a couple of pics right after my catheter was removed, it was only in over night and came out with very little discomfort, the reason being is that you are going to have ALOT of opiates cruising thru your system so basically nothing hurts for the first 24 hours! LOL!
Just search "Hikerman" in the search engine. My pics are there.
Best wishes
