Coloplast Titan one touch vs. traditional type deflating button

Postby LM-N-TX » Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:21 am

OK I’m down to the nuts and bolts of the different implant devices and wanted to ask the guys that have a Coloplast Titan a few questions.
About the deflating button I see two different types. One is called the “one touch” and the other doesn’t have a name but I’m guessing it is what some are calling “traditional type”

#1 Which is better and you like it?

#2 Is it difficult for you to deflate the button and tell me which kind you have if you know? They look very small on the computer screen so that might be important.

#3 Is the tradition type older? I have not asked my doctor but what did your doctor say?

#4 Any problems with malfunctioning?

If you want to tell me your experience, please feel free to private message me or a phone call save a lot of back and for messaging. I had a couple phone call from implant guys that gave me some very helpful information.

I let my surgeon decide. Have the older Genesis since last June. Not the easiest to deflate but No issues.

On You Tube, Dr Clavell does an a analysis of Coloplast versus AMS but in doing so, he also discusses the inflate/deflate pros and cons. May give you some addl insight.

I recommend watching the below video by Dr. Eid. I went submissive with him and he chose the classic Genesis pump for me. He told me that if he were to give advise to his own brother he would suggest the Genesis. He has described all the reasons in his video.

I just got a Titan One-Touch implant on Tue 1/24/2023.

I asked my doc about the Classic (or Genesis) model but he didn't see any reason to choose it over the One-Touch. So, I really had not choice in the matter.

I've been pulling on my pump, as instructed, to keep it from contracting and to keep it positioned properly in my scrotum. I've been trying to discern the button on the pump but am still having difficulty identifying it.

However, there are videos of guys deflating their One-Touch implants successfully, so I assume it's only a matter of time/practice to figure out how to do it. So, I"m not worried about it.

When I watched Eid's video on the topic, he mentioned that the Classic pump is faster but makes more noise. He also mentioned that he liked the Classic's in-line tube array which he said caused fewer problems than the One-Touch's triangle tube orientation.

It not's an issue for me yet but, if I ever need a revision because of a "tube problem," I'll probably ask for the Classic to be installed instead of the One-Touch at that time.

I was implanted about 8 months ago and have the genesis pump. It requires you to hold it in the whole time you’re deflating. At first it was a little hard to push it in, but as time goes and it gets broke in as my implant is also… it has become much easier to activate the deflate and hold it in. Several have mentioned on here that they struggled finding it but I have been able to push mine in since about the 5th day and have never had any problems finding it. My Dr suggested it over the one touch as he said it’s more reliable and he has almost never had a problem with one. I was fine with what he suggested.

I have the titan touch pump but it has never been able to deflate with one touch. It only deflates while I'm actively squeezing the deflate valve

I have had the same experience with the Titan One Touch. It only seems to deflate while I'm pressing it. But to be honest, that's fine by me. It's kind of nice being able to let out just a little pressure without having to do a small pump to lock out the valve. I have wondered if the old pump would be easier to operate given the long bars on both sides. Everything is fine now but I struggled at first to find the right position to press the deflate button.

I just got my Titan One-Touch implanted and my doc said that it should deflate w/one touch but when his PA came in after surgery to remove my catheter and deflate the implant to 70% (from 100%) she said that it had to be held down continuously to deflate it too.

So, YTF (Why The F*ck) do they call it the One-Touch? :?
