1. Can the scarring caused by injections for a long time(>10 years) complicate the implant surgery really bad that it cant be fited anymore or it is placed badly?
2. While you are on injections ,is there anyway to know that you are developing scarring so you can stop them on time and go with the implant to not risk complications because of massive scarring? Should you do a Doppler every once in a while to see for scarring? How does this work?

Injections and implant future
Venous like since I was 20 years old. Pills don't work too well. Thinking of implant in the future
Re: Injections and implant future
At about 11-12 months of injecting I noticed a small spot like a tiny BB in the area where I inject so next time I was at my urologist I showed him and he felt it and said it was scar tissue. I was already planning on implant but that was the final straw. From reading FT for several years I’ve read where some people develops caring and some don’t l.. some have injected for 10 years and are having no issues and some develop pyronies disease after many months of using injections. Like the healing process after implant, every person is different. I think you would know if you were developing scar tissue but not sure you would catch it in time to schedule an implant and get it done in a timely manner. From the day I started the ball rolling it was 4-5 months before I actually had it done. It’s not usually a decision and then surgery in the next few weeks thing.
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
Re: Injections and implant future
My experience similar to Rider's -- I got scarring after only 8 months of injections. Will it complicate surgery -- it certainly can. After my surgery, Dr. Eid told me I had been obliterated with scarring and that he had had to use a very small drill. However my implant outcome, thanks to his vast experience and expertise, was a complete success.
From that experience, if you head toward getting an implant and you think you have scarring, I recommend going to one of the very high volume surgeons who have run into all kinds of issues and learned how to get through them.
Just my opinion fwiw.

Did you notice any signs from all that scarring that you had or you didnt know anything till Dr Eid told you after surgery? I am not afraid of scarring itself because when that happens i'll just get the implant but afraid that i will not notice it and it will become way worse without me knowing

I concur with CrazyJoe on getting to a high volume surgeon. I was just implanted by Dr. Clavell on Wednesday, and he told me after the surgery that one of my corpora had scar tissue in it and he was unable to get through it with any of the dilators. The scar tissue was just below the glans. He obviously didn't want to leave that side so much shorter than the other side, so he made an incision on the shaft below the glans and manually removed the scar tissue. Both of my cylinders now match in size and extend comfortably into the glans. He said at the time, many doctors would have just left that side shorter and hoped for the best outcome.
As I was recuperating, I google searched the procedure he used on me to learn more about it. Lo and behold, he pioneered that procedure and wrote a paper on it, if I remember correctly, back in 2014.
So I lucked out, there was no reason for me to have any scarring of any tissue, yet when it was found just under the glans, the surgeon I chose just happened to have literally written the book on how to fix it!
Based on my appointments with my local Kaiser urologist, I'm confident my outcome would not have been the same as it is now. 3 days post op I'm longer than the Kaiser doctor told me (and showed me) what my ultimate length would be if he performed the surgery.
IPP is not something you shop price for. Quality is all that matters.

Re: Injections and implant future
to Frenchie -- yes I had noticed a slight lump in one of my injection areas, but I absolutely never would have guessed that I was "obliterated with scarring". I should add that I also had developed a downward peyronies which Eid had told me ahead of surgery that he could not repair -- but so I am straight out vs banana up -- no big deal at all -- in fact, makes flaccid less noticeable than others seem to have problems with.
To Jage: WOW, what a great testimony to the imperative of getting a great high volume surgeon! happy for you!

Re: Injections and implant future
The tissue that is displaced with IPP is normally very soft. When pumped to the max it is compressed against the corpora. if you have scarring, some of the material will possibly need to be removed, (cavertome) but when erect not much difference--at least that's my experience. I had minor scarring and no issue.
A better question is...Even if injections work, would I be better off w implant. I never thought i would say yes. I LOVED BiMix!! But I love my implant even more

Scar tissue from injections??? What, were you guys injecting in the same spot on the same side daily (or whenever the mood hits)?
I was injecting for over 5 years and never formed any scar tissue. No hard lumps or unevenness along shaft
My issue was that my dosages kept going up, so it inevitable that implant would happen.

How frequently did you inject?
Re: Injections and implant future
Agfa - though I accept that many who injections do not get scarring, but I kindly disagree that scarring is only caused by injecting in the same spot. I, for example, was careful to move my injection sites around as instructed, but still developed severe scarring and downward peyronies. As has been acknowledged, some injectors are susceptible to scarring, others not. It’s a roll of the dice. Just my view fwiw.
