We are all different and so are doctors. With some doctors men are not activated (start to inflate and deflate the device) for 6-8 weeks. And not cleared for sex (masturbation is sex) for longer. That is because the healing process is long and when you first start inflating and deflating (called cycling) you do so with very short times and build up in most cases. The other reason is the risk of infection. You need the incision to be mostly healed. Men heal at different rates also. It is not a race but just doing what is best for each of us. This differs a lot with us. Some has to do with the doctors and the different ways they do the surgery. A doctor can give you an estimate based on what information they have on other men. And men on this and other sites can give information on how it went with them. But even with using the same doctor men differ and there are even additional factors. Like other health issues or complications with the surgery.
I spent a lot of time reading on this site before surgery. I found that it takes a lot of time for this to fully heal and for men to adjust to the new us. No need to think in days or weeks. Other than to look back and realize you are much better now than then. Months (yes more than one) is a better way to think. The big concern should be to avoid infection. The risk is highest just after surgery and decreases over the first year. Follow your doctors instructions. You are going to have more changes in the coming months. I had improvements with mine past a year. It just takes time. It is a difficult thing to do as we have suffered with ED and are wanting to put it behind us. I wish it was just a few weeks recovery time but that is not the case.
Give this another month and then come back and read this thread again. Then give it another month and do the same. Again at 6 months if you are still on this site. Then look for threads like this one and you can post and try to help the men going through this like many of here are doing.
