RTEs satisfaction

Postby aussiePeyronies » Thu Mar 02, 2023 2:23 am

Just wondering, how many members here have been implanted with over 2cm in RTEs and still very satsfied with their result. No wobbly erection?

5.5 cm of RTE. Connection point to the inflatable part Is right at my pubic bone. When pumped up I stick straight out at 3 o'clock. I can hang a towel on it.

3 yrs 2 months. LGX.

5 cm of RTE on a 18 cm implant. All of the RTE plus about a cm of implant are behind pubic bone.

45 degree erection angle. Stable as a rock. Could drill for oil with my cock if I was low on gasoline. (I’d rather not, but it’s good to know I can if I need to).

I’m not sure I buy the anti-RTE arguments. I’m certainly not proof that they’re bad. If this is bad, give me more.
Age 68. Physically fit educated red neck in Texas. Very married. 23 cm (18+5) of LGX installed by Dr. Bryan Kansas 12/31/2019. I fought the ED and my wife & I won. I’m either full of shit or sound advice. You decide which.

Yes, RTE's are getting a lot of negative comments from members. They just don't understand that they are actually required to correctly fit an implant in most men. Its not like a doctor uses them because he thinks it'll be funny. A large selection of RTE's come with each implant in a kit. Most supplies in surgery are in sterile containers that are opened as the doctor needs them. Left over parts are thrown away.

I have 3cm of RTE's added to my 18cm implant. In surgery my dick measured 10.5 proximal and distal both for a total of 21cm. My hard on points straight out at 3 o'clock as stiff as a steel rod. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

FWIW, when I asked my doc about RTEs, he said that problems usually arise only if the RTE are more than 2cm long. I only have a 1cm RTE, so it's not an issue for me.

The problems associated w/longer RTEs reportedly are reduced implant rigidity and increased bending/deflection resulting in the need for surgical revision.

See, for example: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30551977/ & https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29884443/

I have 3.5 RTE with 11cm proximal. At full inflation, 100% no more possible, I'm at 90 degrees and rigidity is good.

However, anything less than absolute max results in poor rigidity. At 90% I can easily bend it down parallel with my legs and easily bend side to side to touch my legs. I can feel it bend at the join of the last 1.5CM RTE whilst the bottom remains straight.

This is a problem as at 100% inflation it hurts pretty badly and not pleasurable for sex.

This will not be the same for everyone obviously, but definitely with mine, greater than 1cm RTE has resulted in poor stability.

I've had my implant almost a year and nothing has improved. When life settles down a bit more I may opt for a revision, though it's a dice I'd rather not roll.

Sorry again WatNext, we had the same surgeon and have discussed this via PM. I feel for your situation. It seems that AMS may be less likely to cause issues with extended RTEs, at least, as per the above replies, that seems to be the case.

I will check in with Prof Chung in Brisbane, I know he does the peno-scrotal approach where as most Australian surgeons use the infrapubic, he may be open to a revision with less RTEs.
