Bob:
Add me to the list of well wishers. I had a minor infection of the incision after surgery, but that was easily handled by some oral antibiotics. A year after the implant, I got an infection from a prostate biopsy that landed me in the hospital (and almost the grave) for 5 days. This wasn't an infection of the implant, but anytime your body is fighting an infection, rejection is a possibility. I had a couple of people feeling my penis and scrotum during that period also, now its no big deal! Personally, I'd be pushing for the IV antibiotics if you don't see improvement VERY soon.

Re: LGX problem and I'm getting quite concerned
AN UPDATE:
My wife and I went to see my urologist/surgeon this morning and I asked her to go into the examining room with me so she could also hear what the doctor said in case I forgot. He did tell both of us to hold off on intercourse for a while yet until we get this figured out (last week we were given permission to begin "using" the implant this coming Wednesday . Then he examined me. The tissue mass that incases the pump has NOT changed. The good news is that it is not getting bigger…the BAD news is that there was no change in mass size, texture or pain. He did manage to pump the cylinders up just a bit so they fit better but the pain was awful. I thought I was going to pass out. He gave me his cell phone number and said that I should call him anytime this coming weekend if there is ANY change in size, texture or pain. Otherwise my next appointment is Monday morning.
He did indicate that if things are not improving by Monday, he will probably put me back into the hospital for several days of IV antibiotics and then do surgery to remove the entire implant. Then he will install a new one. It seems the problem is around the pump. Anyway, we’ve got to get to the bottom of this soon before I go completely mad.
Thanks for caring,
Bob

You and your wife will get through this just fine. Keep your mind busy this weekend and best wishes for continued recovery this weekend. Maybe take the pump out and put in tire stem!
Have a good Saturday.... Pete

Pete,
Thanks for making me laugh first thing this morning. Maybe a tire stem is a good idea.
Actually while I was pumping one night I thought about someone creating an electric pump box the size of the current valve box with a remote control to inflate/deflate. It could run by rechargeable battery and when it is time to recharge, a magnetic connection could be made through the skin and current passed through to the battery. It would work much like my cordless toothbrush where the current just passes through the plastic frame....no plugs or metal pins to worry about.
My wife would have one of the remote controls and then I'd know immediately when she wanted sex! The only thing I haven't figured out how can I turn her remote control off when she gets MAD at me for something
Thanks for making my day.

Glad to hear you laugh!!
Great idea on the battery/charging angle. Per your wife's remote: keep some dead batteries handy to put in her remote.

Thanks, Pete. Forget about the batteries. If we'd be out shopping and she got angry with me, let her push the remote inflate button. Probably no one would notice anyway.
I am just about to leave for my doctor's appointment this morning. I'll know what is going to happen within the next few hours. The results are back from blood work: White cell count is right where it should be for normal person which seems to indicate that I probably don't have an infection that would create that sort of "mass". So now I'll have to wait and see what the next move is with my doctor. It really feels like some sort of a mass of tissue wrapped around the pump. Will keep you posted.

I sure would like to know how this turned out. Why no responses after the last doctor's visit?

Re: LGX problem and I'm getting quite concerned
I will offer some feedback on the swelling and lump that resulted after the infra-pubic implant. I thankfully had my surgery performed by Dr. Perito, and about a week after the surgery, I began to notice a mass develop around the pump. The mass felt like a thick puddy and grew to just over the size of a golf ball. I've read on this site that several men have reported this, but Not one has reported the outcome.
Dr. Perito assured me this was swelling some men got and would resolve itself in time. He was spot on, and it finally began to shrink in size after the 4th-week point. I never really had any pain from the lump, and I liked the large nut sack due to the swelling. But honestly, I was concerned during the weeks after it developed, and reading things like Hematoma on the internet had me concerned.
The bottom line is I'm delighted with my new Power Stroke Tool and look forward to finally having complete control over something that has had full control over me for the past many years.
I highly recommend Dr. Perito and his team. I can't thank them enough.
