Pump very hard to squeeze
Re: Pump very hard to squeeze
Your not going to damage the implant but it can get mighty uncomfortable for yourself.

“many use the term tubes instead of cylinders, do you mean cylinders?”
Tubes, cylinders, whatever. Have a thesaurus? They mean the same thing.

Re: Pump very hard to squeeze
My titan touch 24cm XL is 24 days post op. I am not very sore now so have tried to deflate and/or inflate more to lube the pump and learn the position. Doc checked it on Friday, just said it is early. I still want to be able to squeeze it. I feel the bulb yieding to my double thumb effort but see/feel no effect even after 10-15 squeezes of the bulb. Deflating, I think I am pushing the button, but hard to tell. Again no visible or tactile change. Doc says he left it at 40-50 percent inflated at surgery. Any suggestions or similar experience? I am concerned it won't work or will take a lot longer to start working. We will be travelling all April and would like to be usable for the trip.

You trusted your doctor to do the surgery and you should follow the doctor's advice. If you are having trouble with a doctor, then you should get a second opinion. Your doctor cut you open and knows more about you and what he did than anyone else. And that doctor knows more about his/her skill level. You risk complications and infection if you don't. Six month wait for another attempt and then start the whole healing process. And most likely a loss of size. Those are the risks.
Now when you are activated by your doctor to start cycling there are things you can do to help out. One is heat. I used a heating pad as my incision was long (scrotal webbing removed) and not healed yet. I did not want to have anything with added moisture like a water bottle or long baths (I always shower). The first squeeze of the pump is to be forceful and fast. This is to fully move the valve into the inflate mode. The heat will not only soften the pump bulb but also help that valve move. I used the heating pad for as long as it took for my scrotum to feel hot before I tried. Sounds like so far you have not been able to get that to happen. On my AMS MS pump there is a felt pop when this happens. And if I did not get the po on the first squeeze of the bulb I would get it on the second or third. You will find spots that are a lot more painful to squeeze the bulb through the scrotal skin. At least I did. And the places with less pain may get sore at first. It is not what that skin is used to. But like working with your hands, you will toughen those areas up over time. And after a while things will be so easy you will not need heat. You need to learn how to operate your device and men doing it a bit differently.

So if we call the cylinders tubing what are we going to call the tubing that moves the fluid?
If you go to AMS or Coloplast's website, you will find they list the size and type of the "cylinders" they make. We talk about our devices and need to have common terms for the components, so we are addressing the same things. For this reason, we call the part of the device in the penis the "cylinders" as the manufactures do. The reservoir the reservoir. The pump the pump. And the tubing that connects it all tubing. This way when some one post a problem with the tubing we know what part is having trouble. If everyone has different terms for parts of the device, or in this case the same name for 2 different parts it is more difficult to help. So if we all use the same terms we can understand and help more, and you will get more responses and help.

Re: Pump very hard to squeeze
Try putting a heating pad on your scrotum a few minutes before inflating. That seems to soften things a bit, which makes pumping easier.

You will get this
My man hit it on the nose. The secret is... there is no secret! The AMS pump is a mother F'R, in my opinion. Just work it as described here (cycling 2x per day) and suddenly at around 4- 5 months, the bulb will give way and allow you to pump 'normally.' My god, I never thought I would be able to pump one-handed, but I got there.
The pump was the biggest pain of the entire process of my journey, but it will get better for you. I know because I was there. Good luck and keep doing what they tell you - you are just a few months away from what you were looking/hoping for.

For fuck’s sake get a life. A cylinder is a tube. Get over it already.
