I think almost every guy has some issues peeing after implant surgery. The catheter irritates the urethra as much as the docs say it won't. Besides peeing in spurts I was spraying everywhere. Found sitting down was the best answer.

As is often said here, everyone is different.

I stayed at the hospital overnight post op and my doc used both a catheter and drain on me and, given the amount of urine & fluids that I produced and the nurses had to dispose of, I'm glad he did.

Of course, I had a problem peeing the morning after to get out of the hospital (I had the same problem after my hernia operation) but, after that, I never had any problem peeing normally (for me) once I got back home.

25 days out. I can pee normally now, finally. Normal as half hard allows. More frequent though. First two weeks used the bottle which was an issue due to swelling, couldn't fit in it. That went away. Had to use it because the spray was all over the place. BMs were an adventure in ingenuity with the swelling and pain. Usually peed first, then sat and held everything out with the bottle in one hand and my parts in the other. Glad that is over now. You will get through it.

That’s interesting that you mention that. Before my implant i’d been noticing some of those “urgency & frequency” issues as time went on. Now, 2 months postop, i too notice that these issues have diminished. I have been wondering if this is in my head or if there’s something implant-related to it. Either way, it’s better now.

Eid reported that often the implant resolves frequent urination issues. Makes sense to me. And before I was afraid it was due to an enlarged prostate.

Now, 2 months postop, i too notice that these issues have diminished. I have been wondering if this is in my head or if there’s something implant-related to it. Either way, it’s better now.

The implant changed my urinary frequency, for the worse. Before I never had to wake up during the night to pee, now it's once a night. I never dribbled after peeing, now there are always a couple drops. When my bladder says it is time to go now that means find the nearest restroom asap. I'm sure part of that is aging, but dang.
On the flip side, I love my implant. Sex is wonderful again. (just wish it happened more often)

The use of a catheter can contribute to those issues. I recently had kidney stones and lots of blood so doc wants to run a camera up my urethra to look in my bladder. I'm dreading it already assuming that is larger than a catheter tube. And I don't want to have to start wearing diapers!

Ask your urologist to give you a prescription for Myrbetriq (a bladder relaxant) for your urinary frequency.

It comes in 25 & 50mg tabs. My urologist gave me a trial pk of each to see which worked best. The 50 mg worked best for me.

I just stopped taking it to see if the implant negated my need for it. If not, I'll start taking it again in a flash.

My doc ran a cam up my dick (which is the same size as a regular catheter) when I 1st saw him to inspect the urethra, the bladder valves & the bladder itself.

The irritation from that didn't go away for 2-3 days but if you are peeing blood & have kidney stones it's the only way (without opening you up) for the doc to assess the problem.

I had a urethrascope done a few months back. Wasn’t painful at all and maybe just a touch noticeable the first day when i urinated. It’s actually a very tiny tube(tool) they use. Took maybe 2 minutes and was done.

Thanks, your reply makes me feel a little better. I was assuming a camera scope would be bigger than a catheter. Doc already warned me it would be a day or two to recover, and peeing would hurt.
Pills, nope. Most pills have the opposite effect on me. Hydrocodone and Tramadol doc gave me after implant only made me nauseous and did zip for my pain. Latest was statins, in two weeks I felt like a bus had hit me.

Mybetriq is a muscle relaxant (not a pain reliever) designed to relax the muscles in your bladder so that you don't pee as much.

It worked immediately for me after decades of suffering w/urinary frequency & urgency because it was never properly diagnosed and treated.

Won't hurt to give it a try. If it doesn't work, just throw it in the trash but, if it does work, it'll change your life, just like your implant did and together it'll be like you're 30 again.

For three days post surgery it ws both difficult to pee and it burned like hell. It began improving day 4. I can now pee like a race horse.
