As stated on this thread, two or three days after surgery I traveled from Houston to Tokyo. Was a 10 or 12 hour trip. Non issue. Only thing I did was took a direct flight and paid litt'l extra for slightly more leg room. For me, the recovery was overall easy-peasy.

Fast correction. In addition to the 10 to 12 hours in the air, it took an additional 90 minutes to the Houston GWB airport, and yet another hour or two from Narita Tokyo airport to my apartment. So yes it was a rather long trip.
