Any other serious weightlifters / gym rats / fitness enthusiasts / powerlifters?

Postby PowerliftingDad » Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:32 am

I am a serious competitive powerlifter (550 deadlift, 450 squat, 315 bench @181 lbs) and still definitely plan on competing.
My old malfunctioning implant was infrapubic and I started seriously lifting after it was already nonfunctional.
My recent revision (2-20-23) was done penoscrotal and my doctor said the reservoir was placed though the inguinal canal. A common place for hernias. My doc said no heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks which I am definitely
following his advice.
My question...are there any other gym goers out there that had their implant placed via penoscrotal and have you had any issues?
50 yrs old - 1st implant at 24 years old in 97 Ams 700. Failed 03
6.5" / 5.5 girth natural erection w/ failed implant
Revision done 2/20/23 done by Dr. Levine Rush University Chicago - AMS 700 CX 21cm + 2cm/1.5 RTE - Currently 6.7" / 5.75 girth

Weightlifter here. Penoscrotal implant. Initially returning to the gym and pushing hard I felt some tenderness near the reservoir. That may have come from bending rather than weights. After a couple of months, everything back to normal. Should be a non event for you.

I’m a regular in the gym. 5’ 8”, athletic and muscular, but on the leaner rather than the bulkier side. Tryin’ to stay a buff-dad. (63). I don’t lift nearly at your guys level, but i think it’s relative. I eased back in at 6 weeks lifting at about 30% of my normal….testing tge waters and being very sensitive and aware of anything amiss down below. I also just felt weaker from the layoff and the recovery. Good thing i don’t care what people think, a healthy girl scout could probably lift more.

Im at 8 1/2 weeks postop now. Finished my workout today and please shed things to the highe level yet. About 75% of pre-op poundages. The lifts i really was careful with, naturally, we’re the core exercises. Still haven’t squatted. Just using the incline leg press. Doing dead lifts too. pretty light still.
Active, athletic 63 years old. Sexually, still 33 in my mind and spirit. Pills and injections all worked, until they didn’t. Diagnosed with veinous leakage in 2022. Coloplast Titan. 22 CM. No RTE. Peno-scrotal. Implanted 1/4/23. Dr. Clavell.

Eid said the same.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

I use to lift regularly and moderately heavy for my age/wt (72/165#) but a several injuries ended that.

I still have a complete Olympic weight lifting setup w/a rack in my garage and a cross-fit set up in my back yard but I haven't used them for over a year.

The only exercise I still do regularly is row on my Concept 2 rower. Prior to Jan 24th when my surgery occured, I was up to 2 million meters rowed for the year (as measured by Concept 2) ending on May 31, 2023.

After 7 wks postop, I just started rowing again and, after a few days, worked my way back up to the 10k meters in two 5k meter sets per day, just as I use to do pre op.

No pain but a little soreness on the left side of my crotch where the tubes extend up to the reservoir. Should end the year at about 2.4 million meters rowed.

The only thing is that I have to row with my deflated 5" chubby show-er sticking straight out between my legs thru the hole in my kinky briefs because it's uncomfortable placing it anywhere else.

Good thing that I can tow in the privacy of my home.

LOL!
