When you are going to get an implant, there are lots of things to worry about. You would worry about being undersized or oversized, rigidity, concealment, infection, pump placement, length, girth, etc. If you left all these things behind and focused on the RTE, then you are worried about the wrong issue.
Gjmjoi17 isn't the only one who has RTE. It is very rare on this forum, (you can do manual count yourself) to find someone without RTE. From early 2020, when I found FT, I didn't see a member here who has an issue with RTE. Only I read one post from a member, whom I don't remember his name, that his penis is a kind of wobbly, without a proof that it is due to RTE, as this requires MRI to see exactly what the problem is.

I find the fervent reaction of some of the members here, denying any possibility that using "too many" RTEs could cause a problem with the stability/rigidity of an implant, curious.
As people here like to say, everyone is different. Some men will and some men will not experience problems with RTEs, depending on how many are used, the skill of the surgeon & the specific anatomy of the patient.
So, why deny what has been reported in the medical literature and anecdotally about such problems?
If you and others and others have no problems w/your implant w/more than 2cm of RTEs, that's "great" but that doesn't mean that other men may not experience problems if "too many" RTEs are used or that men who are planning to get an IPP shouldn't be warned about possible problems associated w/using too many RTEs.
Denying what has been proven medically is inconsiderate and does a disservice to those men who would benefit from being fully informed of all of the risks involved in getting an IPP.
The facts are the facts, whether you choose to deny them or not.
If you read my post I didn’t say there could be no problems if RTE’s are misused.RTE’s are a very common part of implant surgery and are used everyday with no problems.Putting fear in guys about RTE’s is not a good thing when in fact using them correctly is a good thing.I’m in no way blowing off anyone who has had a problem from a poorly performed procedure. At the same time no one should have fear of properly used RTE’s,period!
You can't "misuse" an RTE. Any issues caused by RTEs are caused by the inherent physical characteristics of them. They are installed by easily snapping them on like you would the cap of a pen, and there's no way to do it incorrectly.
I know I won't convince you as you form whatever opinion makes you feel better without looking at evidence. My replies are to inform any others who are reading this.

Nice try,but wrong again.Of course you can misuse an RTE.Using too many or not enough. It’s about getting the proper length to place the distal tip of the cylinder at mid glans, but not getting that correct you will have issues.Again,my point is when properly used and the correct length is achieved you will have a good result. You believe what ever you choose, but they can be incorrectly used!

You might consider your result with RTEs a good result, but it would be a better result without them.

I agree. RTEs are now routinely used w/o any problems w/IPPs.
However, I do not agree that informing men, who are considering an IPP, about the possible risks of using longer RTEs is "putting fear in guys about RTE's."
It is simply giving them information that they need in order to ask the "right" questions and to assess the risks necessary to make an "informed consent" before agreeing to undergo the surgery.

I have 2 RTE each side, 22 cm titan. Haven't had any problems that I know of with them. My surgeon explained that the reason for them is to get the tubing in the right place but also, for the titan, he could have used the 24xl but that comes in separate pieces and the surgeon has to make connections on the back table. With the 22cm that comes as a whole one piece kit, less chance of failure bc it is put together at the factory. (less connections).
Peace out
Peace out
57yo, prostate cx @ 54, RP, nerve sparing, ED persist, bimix great, but caused scaring, 7/21 Titan 22cm,2 RTE. 7"x6.5" natural, now 6.5"x5.25"

I think Merrix summarized it in his signature : Only one advice: Find a world class surgeon.
So, select a good surgeon and let him decide what is best for you.

I agree you should pick the best surgeon that you can find but "blind faith" in anyone is inadvisable.
It's always best IMO to educate yourself as best as you can so that you can ask the informed questions of the surgeons you are considering and, if their answers are "off" of what you've learned in your research, move on to another surgeon who answers your questions better so that your "faith" in him/her is justified.

Re: Titan members with 2cm or more RTEs
I asked my surgeon about his RTE use. He told me for him is is only to get correct size if you fall into the gap between sizes. There was a Titan rep. At my surgery with every size available so I got a 20cm with 1 RTE on ea side. It is as good as I could ever hoped!
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
