Tips on deflating and how to know when fully deflated - 5 weeks out

5 weeks post surgery, I just started cycling.

I am finding it very difficult to deflate as the deflate valve is behind my scrotum (I have a small scrotum which is still a little swollen and has sacs of blood and fluid in it still). Any tips on deflating? Currently, I try and find the valve, it is so difficult to locate the groove and button then I press it and squeeze the penis quite hard. Sometimes I am not sure if I have even pressed the button as everything is so difficult to feel.

How at this stage, should a person know if they are fully deflated? My deflated state looks erect still which I know is normal for now, but makes it difficult to know when I am deflated fully.

it's normal, the titan deflates less than ams, even if I deflate as much as possible, the time a few seconds that I stand up it self-inflates up to a certain point, we have to agree with this, in the hope that it deflates better over time without self-inflating much, and feeling it less cumbersome

You and I have the same brand of implant -- a Coloplast Titan Touch.

Did your doc give you the model of the Titan Touch pump? If not, you should ask him for one but, in the meantime, this is what it looks like:



It is an exact duplicate of the pump in your scrotum.

What you can't see is that there is a flat round circle directly opposite the deflate button and, when I started cycling, I found it easiest to "feel" the flat spot which then located the deflate button for me.

I place my middle finger on the flat spot, my thumb on the deflate button and use my index finger along the side of the pump bulb to hold it in place.

It also helps that my scrotum is "high & tight" and that the pump is positioned so that I can press the pump towards the back of the scrotum which also helps hold it in place while I'm deflating the implant.

You'll have to experient to find the best way to hold/position the pump based on the location of your pump and your anatomy.

Although Coloplast claims that the Touch only requires "one touch" to deflate the implant, this isn't exactly the case.

The instructions say that you have to hold the button down 1-2 secs to initiate deflation but, when I did that, the valve which is opened when you press the deflate button closed too soon (in only about 2-3 secs) for me to complete the deflation of my implant.

So, I'd have to press the button 2-3 more times to get my implant to fully deflate and that was a waste of time.

I timed it and it takes me about 10 secs to fully deflate my implant. This requires me to hold the deflate button down w/my left hand while sqeezing the saline out of the implant with my right hand for about 8 secs.

When I release the button after 8 secs, the valve is still open and I can still squeeze more saline out of the implant before it closes 2-3 secs later.

So, this is a 2 hand operation for the 1st 8 secs and a single handed operation for the last 2-3 secs.

You'll know if your implant is fully deflated when it's no longer hard, can be bent 90 degrees in any direction and hangs down at around 5:00. If it's sticking straight out or up (whichever is the case for you), it's NOT deflated.

When you're done deflating it, you should be able to feel the cylinders "crinkle" in your hand and your dick will look kind of wrinkled but it will not stay this way.

The peculiar thing about my Titan (which I was worried about initially) is that even I fully deflated it, it would "auto inflate" back to about 20%.

I asked my doc about this and he says it's normal and that there's nothing wrong w/the pump. So, if this happens to you, you shouldn't worry about it either.

Deflated my dick is now 5"L x 5.75"G and inflated it's 6" L x 6"G. So, it's definitely a show-er now and there's isn't much difference in it's size deflated vs inflated.

So, don't be surprised if this happens to you as well.

To totally deflate my Titan I hold the button down while squeezing my shaft. I wrap a layer of towel over my shaft for comfort and spread out the squeeze a bit. It takes 30-45 seconds of holding/squeezing. However, no matter how much saline I get to move out, and the couple of pumps to lock it, my flaccid just returns to what is now my normal size.
At 5 weeks out your cylinders are still stiff and no matter how much you squeeze, they are likely to remain larger for several months. Also, your new flaccid is going to be much larger even after the break in time.

Thanks for the comprehensive post. Yes, I do have that model, with the keychain. I guess, I am finding it difficult as my scrotum is small and there is still sacks of fluid in there. My cylinders are also still very stiff, so, even deflated I look very inflated.

Does the lock out feature not prevent your 20% auto-inflation?

Not sure what "lock out" feature you're talking about. There is only the pump bulb and the deflate button.

Before I spoke w/my doc, I tried pressing the pump bulb again after the implant is fully inflated (as others here have suggested) to close the but this doesn't do any good for me.

No matter how much I deflate the implant and whether or not I press pump bulb again, the implant will still fill up to about 20% after it's been fully deflated.

Someone here said that this "might" be due to fluid that still in the tubes (which has not passed thru the pump back to the reservoir) which is flowing back into the cylinders.

I don't know if this is what's happening or not but it's as good a guess as any. All I know is that my doc said that this is "normal" and not to worry about it.

So, I'm not worrying about it anymore.
