I've never seen a doctor quoted on FT as saying one should NOT use a VED prior to surgery. I have read of some that don't mention it or maybe even say it doesn't help (but how would you know unless you had two identical men with identical penises and one pumping and one not?), and I've also read quotes from and SPOKEN with well known doctors that recommend it.

For me, the loss of overnight erections was merely a concern, until I learned that this is how the body oxygenates the penile tissues and keeps them healthy. I wasn't having that. So rather than sit on my hands for 3 months prior to my surgery, I decided to send some blood and oxygen down there on a routine. For me, it helped. I could SEE it helped.

I stated my experience and my opinion, and my post (hopefully) reflected that.

You, on the other hand, often state absolutes, as if you're the urologist:
"You definitely do NOT need to use a VED preop if your ED is recent and if your penis has not atrophied. Using it in this case would be worthless."
You have no way of knowing that. Then why do many doctors recommend it? Maybe they should check with you first?

"The best use of the VED for the treatment of ED and prevention of penis atrophy starts the day that you can't get it up anymore. The longer you wait to use one for this purpose, less useful it will be prior to getting an implant."
Based on what research? Just your own? Did you read a FT post about this or did your specific doctor state this to you in person? Or maybe this is just your own reasoning?

Again, you state an absolute, which is not agreed upon by medically trained urologists.

Another absolute that flies in the face of many highly skilled urologists:
"There is nothing you really need to do preop except keep yourself and your dick healthy." More than a few recommended urologists on this site would like a word...

Please go back and reread my post and find a statement I made in the form of an absolute general truth. This is why people get a little tired of your narrow minded posts, sswinsfba, you do the same thing when it comes to penoscrotal vs infrapubic and other issues of personal decision with pros and cons. You state things as absolute truth, and if they don't agree with your point of view, they're wrong. It's tiring.

Campfire- part of my internal discussion was if there is no downside to pumping pre-op, which there doesn't seem to be as long as you don't injure yourself since many doctors recommend it, then why not pull out all the stops and do everything you can do to maximize your size and penis health prior to implantation. Seems to me it's either worthless (according to sswinsfba) or it helps. In my personal experience with pumping for 3 months prior, I saw an unquestionable physical difference in my flaccid state. Did that make a difference in my ultimate cylinder sizing and eventual erect penis size? I'll never know. But I WILL know that I did everything I could pre-op, with my doctor's blessing..... you know, the highly skilled top tier high volume medically trained urologist.

You can't go back and do it over again.
