Pain post-cycling

Postby aussiePeyronies » Tue Mar 28, 2023 11:55 am

I am getting a lot of pain after cycling, to the point where I am considering going to my doctor.

At 7 weeks out, 12 days cycling, how normal is this?

I am thinking of cutting my cycling sessions from 2 x 1 hr to 1 x 30m

J,
The main reason for cycling is to stretch and gain as much of loss of length as possible before the surgical capsule forms.

Surgical Capsule Definition

Capsule formation is a potential postoperative risk of an inflatable penile implant surgery. If no cycling (successive cycles of penile implant inflation and deflation) occurs soon after surgery, penis size may be reduced due to the growth of a psuedo-capsule around the inflatable cylinders.

All doctors protocols are different

Mine only wanted me to inflate as much as I could in the shower 1 time a day for 10 to 20 minutes.

I went above that and did more including sitting in a bath tub with warm water and trying to go as long as I could stand the pain, which was about 40 minutes at the beginning, I couldn’t stand the pain after that.

I think you should definitely reduce the amount of time, but check with your doctor. I can’t imagine having to do 2 x 1 hour at full max inflation at the beginning, I would have passed out.

Thanks for your response. I think you're right, I am only 12 days into cycling and probably should reduce then gradually increase.

I got ahead of myself and just started doing 2 x 1hr sessions, and just putting up with the excruciating pain.

J, your FrankTalk brothers don’t want to go all the way over to Australia to check on you after you’ve passed out! Take it easy over there!

I'm not an expert, but common sense tells me that mild to moderate pain means I'm stretching the tissue and helping it to expand.
Severe pain means I could be tearing the tissue, which could cause scarring and even shrinkage as it heals.

It's just going to take time. Don't overdo it and go backwards.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I think I may have gotten ahead of myself and been overdoing it.
