Assuming you go back to the same surgeon and if you paid out of pocket, the cost should be the same minus the cost of the implant itself and minus the surgical time saved if the entire implant does not need to be replaced.

The longer & more complicated the surgery, the more it should cost but it's should exceed the cost of the original implant. So, the cost of the surgeon will vary but the hospital costs likely will remain constant.

However, men whose original implant was covered by insurance should also have the revision covered beyond their deductible if any.

In most part of planet implants don't covered by insurance. I admin russian patient community, and literally know people who saved money for surgery 5 or 7 years

I understand that you can do a revision but with every revision still is the chance that some fucked up shit happens and you might even get an infection and totally lose your dick and not get another implant. I know I am too paranoid but it is difficult to make the decision when you are young and still can get a 10seconds erection (worth of nothing anyway)

No I don't. Not even now, when my implant has shown some signs of malfunction.
And definitely never in the first 7 years, before these signs. Never.
Well, except for the first few times I had sex. Maybe not worrying the implant would fail, but just struggling to believe and understand that I was actually fucking with a dick that just stayed hard no matter what. I could change positions, slow down, go take a f-ing beer in the middle of it if I wanted to. That was mínd-blowing.
But never worried that the implant would fail.

Yes, multiple revisions suck. But with a 10-second erection at 20, which still is not usable for sex, what do you think you will have at 30? 40? 50?
You're probably looking at a life without sex as it is now. And some people are ok with that.
But if you know it's going to eat you and impact your life negative, I really don't think you have any other choice.

Assuming you tried the obvious first - pills.
And maybe injections as well.

I agree Merrix, why worry about it, it’s just great to have sex again. If you have to have a revision down the road, just take it one day at a time.
I have talked to other fellow AMS bionic brothers that didn’t have to have a revision for 17 years, he is 75 and didn’t have any problems with the revision.

Lets see this picture. You worry that you can't get an erection for any kind of sex.
Or, while you're having sex. You worry that your implant might fail in the future.
The difference is you're having sex. Likely for several if not many years. That is a decision that most members of FT have made. It isn't a very hard choice.

Edit: Sex with worries vs no sex with worries. Not a hard choice in my mind.

I think my implant has a slight downward bend at the tip that will eventually cause a distal perforation and I still have zero regrets or zero doubt that I did the right thing. I finally used it today fully and holy shit, I haven't had sex like that since I was 17. I did things I haven't been able to do for 15-20 years, hell maybe *ever* and that was before I knew I even had ED of any kind. Without a doubt is the best sex I have had in decades. I am sore as hell. She can barely walk. I am completely satisfied. My wife told me flat out she didn't know if her body can keep up with my bionic penis, but she wants to find out. She's sexually interested in me again. She plays with my dick and not like it's a chore. I feel a whole level of confidence I haven't felt ever in my life. If I have to get a revision then I have to get a revision. There is always a risk with surgery. I frankly would rather die then deal with the years of ED and the depression they caused me. I love my Titan, painful Max inflation and all. I only regret not doing it years ago. It's done more for my depression and anxiety in just over a month then 15 years of therapy and antidepressants. No regrets. None. If it never got any better than it was today, I would still have no regrets.

"Live today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Just today. Inhabit your moments. Don’t rent them out to tomorrow. Do you know what you’re doing when you spend a moment wondering how things are going to turn out? You’re cheating yourself out of today. Today is calling to you, trying to get your attention, but you’re stuck on tomorrow, and today trickles away like water down a drain. You wake up the next morning and that today you wasted is gone forever. It’s now yesterday. Some of those moments may have had wonderful things in store for you, some terrible, but now you’ll never know." -some book my wife read (paraphrased)

Or if you want something a bit more classical, "I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Groucho Marx

Or for something very simple, you could get hit by a car and die would you rather die struggling with ED or having sex. Choice is pretty simple for me.

But the things I choose and the choices I make are for me, you have to decide what is important to you. Our lives can end at any point for any variety of reasons, I'm choosing to live the best life I can live at any given point. The fears of tomorrow may never come, because I may not exist by the time they could even occur. So I can only live for today and what makes my life the best for today. Nothing is perfect, nothing is 100% predictable, etc

I've been thinking about this for a while, and at first I thought, well damn, an implant failing the night I meet this new hot chick would be awful and embarrassing. But no, I don't think that'd ever been an issue, because I use my implant every single day in lots of ways. My implant is gonna fail some day for sure, but it's like a 99.99% chance it's gonna break when I'm max VED'ing it or Perito's THE exercising it and not anywhere else. It's gonna fail, but not when I'm using it for sex.

Besides, which is more likely to fail at a bad time for you? A dick you have now that you're aware has serious ED issues, or an implant that has been proven in medical studies to last millions of pumps before failing? Pretty sure it's the former.

NO I do not constantly worry about a failure. I follow directions and don’t abuse my implant to prevent an early failure. That’s all I can control to help myself. I learned a long time ago that worrying about things we can’t control stifles a fulfilling life. If my implant fails I’ll deal with it by the best solution available at that time. Here and now I’ll enjoy the benefits. Why should I waste one precious minute thinking of it as a ticking bomb?

You are a young man so perhaps you haven’t yet experienced the loss of friends to car accidents, cancer, ALS, and other ugly shit that can end life far too early. My intention isn’t to cast doom and gloom. I’m simply saying; enjoy today - tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

As I recall, you previously posted that you’re 24 years young. According to some studies, women reach their peak orgasmic frequency in their 30s and by age 55 (post menopause) 35%-40% of women loose interest in sex. So the girls in your age group are entering the horniest years of their life. Meanwhile you are choosing to sit on the bench worrying about an implant failing which you never got! I guess I’m just challenging your logic in depriving yourself of sex during the best years of your life - and for what? To protect your limp dick so it can atrophy some more and be even limper when you’re older? Remember, tomorrow isn’t guaranteed and VL doesn’t improve with age.

Consider this; there is a 12.7% probability you will be dead by age 55 and 6% probability you won’t see your 41st birthday. This grim data is according to the SSA Actuarial Life Table for males in the US. For the sake of illustration, let’s say you work up the courage to get implanted on your 25th birthday. Then two revisions follow before age 55. That’s 3 surgeries across 30 years based on a very conservative 10yr avg life span. In reality there is a higher probability of you dying from other causes vs getting an infection from revisions over the next 30 years. This example assumes, as you have, that IPPs and surgical techniques will not improve over the next 30 years. But I think it’s very likely you will be around many years benefiting from many medical advancements during your lifetime. So I believe it’s very possible for you to enjoy sex now and well into your later years. And all of this is possible without your dick falling off.

Problems here are typically discussed without representation from the thousands of implanted men who never visit this Forum. So what might appear like a huge issue on FT, in reality may be a very small percentage of occurrences across the total population of implanted men. Below is a link to a 2019 report estimating 50,000 penile implant surgeries are performed annually worldwide. So from that we can conclude 250,000 men received implants in the past 5 years. FT currently has 14,161 members spread across 23 different ED discussion forums. Obviously not all those members are implanted or currently active on the implant discussion forum. So I can’t arrive at a precise number but I think it’s safe to conclude; less than 1% of all men implanted in the last 5 years are represented on this forum.

In closing, what you read here is valuable but it’s not a substitute for professional medical advice. There will always be someone telling you “don’t do it” and someone else saying “ I regret not getting my implant sooner”. And both are 100% correct for their situation. Instead, take the valuable information you learn here to have intelligent discussions with your medical providers. Then make the decision best for you based on sound medical advice.
