How can we ice post-op without getting anything wet?

I was given one of these types of refillable ice bags when I was released from the hospital, it worked GREAT (see link below, it was almost the same thing). I then bought a pack of 5 for $12 as the original one started to get a little ragged after a week or so and I wanted to make sure I had a replacement. (I never needed the replacements, but I'm happy I have them in inventory for any other icing needs)

These fill from the top and seal up, and they don't require a dishtowel or something else between a plastic bag and your skin. They have a plastic inside liner and a softer outer layer. I loved this because of it's height. I could fill it 3/4 way with ice and clamp it closed, then spread the ice evenly throughout the bag. Spread my legs and put the factory sealed end on the bed and push it up against my scrotum. It's tall enough that the top end that I can open up was just a little bit taller than the top of my 70% inflated penis. So the ice was completely on my scrotum and shaft to the tip on the underside. Then, I had a couple of freezable gel ice packs that I would put on the topside of my penis, from my fat pad to the tip on the topside.

At that point, I'd wrap everything with a gauze bandage and I had a freezing cold dick sandwich that I didn't have to keep adjusting. The best part was that since the ice bag was a little taller than my glans, I could put the bed covers over everything and there was no pressure on my glans as it recovered.

I did this for about a week, the first 40 hours after surgery nonstop, night and day. After that, I did it 4-5 times a day for a couple of hours each time.

I had hardly any bruising (none that I could see), minimal swelling and very, very little pain.

1. Use 2 Ziplock freezer bags. Good quality. (Ziplock brand).

2. Fill the first with ice. A lot. Zip up.

3. Put that filled bag in the 2nd bag. Zip up.

4. Put a small towel over your groin and then put the two bags on top. As the ice melts is will confirm to your body icing the penis snd scrotum, essentially encasing it. Leave it there as long as possible. I did it basically all day, for 4 days, replacing ice as necessary.

You won’t get wet and the encasement distributes the cold everywhere you need it.

For me, this helped a lot. I had very little bruising and swelling, and very little pain.

Thanks, are the gallon size ones ok? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... NS44&psc=1

I don't think I understand your 4th step. Do you put the towel on top of the penis and the bag on top of it too so that it hangs down the sides of your penis? Would this not be heavy and a lot of weight on the penis?

I should have mentioned that.

Yes, tge gallon sizes are perfect. Since you’re double bagging moisture will be minimal and though the towel may get somewhat damp, it’s minimal. And no, it’s not too heavy. I kept mine there constantly for days. As it melted it ensconced my dick and balls….precisely what i wanted, perfectly.
