When do the scrotum stitches dissolve

Implant on 4-18-2023. Things are healing just fine. The stiches are itching a lot. It becomes uncomfortable. There is a knot that sticks out more than the other stiches. My ball sack is sensitive to sitting down and standing up. Does anyone know when the stiches dissolve or do I have to see if the doctor can remove the stiches now?

I had the same and when I posted to ask this it was replied that 8 weeks was when the stitches should be gone. If not have them removed as leaving stitches in longer than that was an infection risk. I removed the last few myself. I had a pair of suture scissors and used alcohol to prep everything. Most health care places should be able to do this. Urgent care, your regular doctor, or of course you urologist.

Depends on the surgeon and the type of stitches used.

Hakky was my last surgeon (I need to update signature). His stitches could dissolve between 6 weeks to 180 days. They pose no risk of infection if they are left in longer than 6 weeks. I was cleared to go to an urgent care and have them removed at the 6 week mark.

Again, what I typed above is for Hakky patients. You should absolutely confirm with your surgeon or his staff on what your timeframes are.

warm showers dissolve them quicker, and is good after wound closure.

Easy question, not so easy to answer. Your dr has a choice on using stiches that can dissolve fast or slow. My dr used ones that should last around 8 weeks. I was told that sometimes they do dissolve but only inside the body. Normally they just fall out but sometimes they just don't fall out.
See if your dr will tell you how long the stitches should last that he used.

Clavel told me that what he used would last a Month, I am at 16 days and I think they are all gone, incision looks totally healed.

At exactly 4 weeks the stiches for the reservoir dissolved. still waiting fot the stiches in the scotum to dissolve.

At this point the only discomfort I have is that my balls are pretty sore, but it is tolerable. They itch a lot.

June 2 is my activation date.
