AMS 700 question
Re: AMS 700 question
These things can be glitchy but they get better and we get better operating them. I received a DVD in my packet that has good info on it. It is on line if you did not get one. It has the press the side of the block reset on it. Mine is really glitchy and I squeezed the crap out of mine trying to get it to work correctly. It was close to 3 months before I could sometimes feel the click when I depressed the deflate button. It is really soft and most times I do not feel it. The pop really does not concern me any more. Most times it happens on pumps 1-3. Mine inflates and deflates and that is what I care about most.

newbie443, that is exactly the words the doctors use. Glitchy.

When you say press the sides do you mean the opposite sides without the button. Like 90 degrees from the button on both sides?

tubes
---> [ o ] <----
pump
bulb
The arrows are where I squeezed. The little o is the deflate button. Also if the bulb of the pump does not fill after a pump and stays collapsed just press the deflate button and it will refill. Then continue to inflate.
Like I said before I do not worry about feeling the very fait click of the deflate button or even the pop of the bulb. As long as it inflates and deflates.

Re: AMS 700 question
Perfect illustration newbie. I don't ever feel the pop when I deflate, I just feel/hear the buzz of the saline moving. I don't get too concerned when I don't feel the pop when I inflate other than when I can get it to engage. I can feel/hear the saline go in and then back out as the valve is still open. So I have to cycle through. Squeeze the pump a few times the press the release button, rinse and repeat. If this goes on for more than 5 or 6 cycles, I get that sinking feeling that something isn't working correctly. I'll try squeezing the sides as you suggested when I can't get it to engage. see if that makes a difference. You know how it is, when the wife is ready we want to be "up" and running a quickly as possible. If I have to stop and do the above cycling it sort of ruins the mood so to speak.

Re: AMS 700 question
I know what you mean. I like fluid in my cylinders. Helps smooth out the dog ears and I like having a decent size all the time. Not for everyone though. Early on I had fluid moving back into the cylinders after deflation and would pump until I felt the pop and it prevented too much cylinder inflation. So I deflate and if the button clicked and I end up deflated all the way I add about 3 pumps.

My experience with the fluid smoothing out dog ears is after a while there are no more dog ears, even when fully deflated. Very nice. I think the fluid helps every thing settle into it's place and adjust and helps the fabric condition to a softer state like new shoes vs. old shoes. 3 more days I will be 18 months on this Titan. I would guess there were no more dog ears at all after about 1/2 that. Cheers.

Re: AMS 700 question
Well after 6 months with this thing I just figured out that I have been deflating incorrectly. I have been pressing the button from the side, although I thought that I was pushing it straight on. Due to this I had to hold the button until fulling deflated. After some serious exploration and from the advise of those on here I was finally able to figure out how to push the button in order for the implant to auto deflate without holding the button. I'm amazed that I just assumed I was doing it correctly and that my implant wasn't working properly. All is well and just goes to show that these things have a huge learning curve. Thank you to those who replied.

Re: AMS 700 question
Everything is going very well with my recovery, I am in my sixth week, but yesterday the deflation began to work in a different way, before I had to press the button for about 4 seconds for the prosthesis to begin to deflate, since yesterday it I immediately deflate I press the button and it happens in two ways:
1. If I gently press the button it releases the liquid while I hold it down, if I stop pressing it the release is interrupted, it does so immediately I press it, you don't have to wait a second.
2. If I press the button fully I feel a small click, immediately I release it, the prosthesis begins to release until it completely deflates, without leaving the button pressed for more than a second, just with a touch.
Since it worked differently before and when I look at the instructions I see that it says what to press for 4 seconds, I wonder if something strange is happening?
Thank you so much
