I have a relatively new AMS cx implant and have trouble deflating all of the time. I went to see the doctor 3days ago for a 5 month check. I told the doctor about my issue so had me show him what’s going on. During the demo he told me to depress the button and squeeze my penis to get the fluid to go back into the resovoir. The he said grab the pump bulb quickly and listen or feel the pop. It still doesn’t work all the time.
Any clues as to what I’m doing wrong?

Trouble deflating
75 years old. Was on Viagra and then Cialis but got fed up with the side effects. Switched to Tri-Mix 3 years ago but had increasingly reduce effect. Finally implanted 1/19/2023. Always looking for advice. Live in Illinois.
Re: Trouble deflating
Once you've deflated you should not squeeze the bulb again until you're ready to inflate again.
Doing so puts the pump back in inflate mode and fluid can move back into the cylinders.

Since you have a AMS CX implant you have the same pump as me. You can find an instruction video on AMS implants on YouTube.
I was told to hold the deflate button down 4 seconds and let it drain, it sort of makes a buzzing sound while it is draining. I talked with some Boston Scientefic patient champions and they said when the pump is new to hold it down for 8 seconds until it gets broken in.
After it deflates, for me I continue to hold the deflate button down and squeeze my penis until I can’t hear anymore fluid leaving the tubes.
That’s it, don’t squeeze the bulb, not unless you want to activate it again.

Then I wonder why he told me to press the bulb again?

Attached is the instructional video for AMS implants
It also gives troubleshooting at the end of the video.

Re: Trouble deflating
Its definitely a learning process. Mine has always deflated pretty good after pushing the deflate button. I learned to grab my penis backwards. My thumb & finger against my pubic bone. This keeps you from trying to compress the tips in the glans. I got better results for max deflation that way. Unfortunately if I do max deflation I risk getting a dog ear. Those suckers can hurt.
I've tried setting the pump to inflate as suggested by my nurse to help with the dog ears. I use one sqeeze for the valve & 1 or 2 small ones to smooth out the dog ears.
Yes, I've noticed that my flacid does increase but I'm not sure if its inflating a little or if its my new flacid size.
When my nurse has showed me what complete deflation looks like. I feel like it was still partially inflated. She said no, its your natural tissue girth.
Its like going thru puberty again. Everything keeps changing. We're learning the tricks of a new penis. Penis 1.0 is the old one. Time to learn the new penis 2.0. Enjoy the journey.

GT1956, that's interesting about you getting dog ears that hurt. You've got the CX model and I have the LGX. I'm 18cm with 3cm rear tips. When I totally deflate and squeeze all the fluid out I don't get any dog ears it just hangs down. Sometimes I won't squeeze all the fluid out because it looks better, but if I want to wear jeans or something that is tight I have to deflate all the way.
I was supposed to get the CX but for some reason the doc and the Boston Scientific rep decided that I needed the LGX during surgery. I'm happy with it, I haven't had any problems, knock on wood. lol

I was wanting the LGX. But if you have 21cm of corpra he uses the CX. He likes the rigidity, I didn't really see the need for rigidity. I'm not going to be breaking rocks anyways. Way too much manly emphasis on what is the hardest. They all get harder than normal erections. I was interested in the LGX growth potential.
The CX can get dog ears. Its not as prone to them as Titans though. I told the nurse on a pumping class visit what happened. She agreed it was likely a dog ear. But she did point out that contrary to advertisements & many so called experts. The CX does grow in length. Not as much & more slowly than the LGX. So I'm not real upset to of gotten the CX.
I have a appointment with the nurse & my dr at a little over the 3 month mark. Rumor has it that he's a bit brutal if you haven't reached your stretch test length. I'm thinking its not wise to upset the man that has cut your dick open. I don't seem to be getting much of a stretching feeling while pumping. I've stayed inflated way too long several times cause I was watching YouTube in bed. My shaft complains to me when I do that.
I guess everyone needs a goal. Looks like mine will be to prove that the CX really does stretch in length. I think I'll post a bit more about what I've been learning in this thread at a latter time

GT, it sounds like you don’t have a tremendous amount of pain when max inflated over 30 minutes. My doc wasn’t concerned with gaining length, he was more concerned with proper cycling before the surgical capsule formed where you would limit any kinds of gains if you didn’t cycle to the max. I hope you have a good followup. Everything gets way better between month 4 and 6, at least for me it did.
Good Luck GT
