Hi,
I just have had my last appointmnet with my Urologist who specializes in ED area. After injecting mw now for almost 3 time in his office (that was months ago) he asked me to not to waste time or wait for a miracle to happen, and by getting an implant you will start focusing on other things also. Young people should not waste time after saying he recommended me to 2 different surgeos for an implantation.
I booked an appointment with Osmonov, hopefully it will get better soon
I asked both urlogist regarding, infections, and implant failures. Also i talked about this forum, amazingly the knew about this forum. They said rate of infection is very low, and occurs only you have weak immune system because of the age or other health issues or your are diabetic. They say personally they did not see any case of infection in young and healthy person (very rare). They told me the life of the implant is not as wou see on these forum, he said in their practise he know people who were implanted 10, 15, 20, or some case he said one guy came to us for revision he have had his impant for 27 years working perfectltill it failed. The number of failures we say on different forums we see are people who had complication or having implant problem the number is very low to get the clear picture, but in reality it is otherwise.
I think having this conversation with the doctor has helped me to reduce my stress, and anxiety about my surgery in coming month. I hope it gets better for all of us.

Is a long term study related to implant failure-- the short take away if you don't wanna look through it is--
"The estimated IPP survival was 53% (95% CI, 36-67) at 20-year follow-up. Baseline characteristics (age, Charlson comorbidity index, body mass index, and erectile dysfunction etiology) were not significantly associated with the risk of IPP failure over time by Cox regression analysis. At 20-year follow-up, 41% (95% CI, 19-49) of the patients were still using the device."

Re: Success rate of an Implant
Mine has been in place since November 2017, 5 yrs 7 months of almost daily inflation cycling and at least weekly sex.
Taking a different meaning from the original question: My implant success rate is 100%. Every time we want sex, penetration is certain and after a few months, both our orgasms assured. (I had trouble with orgasm for a time.)

This is the information a lot of young guys need to see. I've always said this forum is mainly guys with issues or problems with their implant. Guys who have been implanted for a long time are simply not posting.

I agree, but there're some that just won't listen. Sadly they distract the best advice from reaching those that are willing to benefit from it.
I won't even comment the hurdles that younger or un/under insured face. Even in countries with goverment run healthcare it seems like ED is just an ingrown toenail to them. A necessary inconvenience.

I agree with Old Guy that those who have problems are more likely to show up in a forum than those who don't, though I will say the talk here seems more positive and less "doom and gloom" than when I first got here. Size loss was talked about as almost a guarantee, infections or other problems were likely, especially as a result of what I believe are safe exercises, etc. All things considered I'd think any urologist performing this in the developed world knows what s/he's doing. It's a short procedure (albeit with a fairly long recovery from a few months to possibly even a year of cycling and other exercises) and completely cures one of the most stressful and embarrassing problems any man could face, which is losing the ability to get or stay erect. If you can't do that, an implant is worth it.
