I am under the impression that as long as you have a competent surgeon, that you can get five, ten, fifty, or more revisions without medical difficulties, as long as you can afford it. This is why some even in their teens get the surgery.

Whats the worse thing that can happen with an infection? Can it leave you totally impotent without a chance for another implant?

I think worst case is probably size loss, like potentially a lot of size loss. You always want to go with the best surgeon possible since he will minimize the chance of infection, and also know what to do in the event of infection to minimize that size loss.
