implant warranty?

Postby España1980 » Sun Jun 18, 2023 6:53 pm

Hello, I recently saw a video where Dr. Antonini from Italy responded to a patient that his Titan would have a 5-year guarantee. I don't know if I heard correctly, but it would seem amazingly bad to have that minimum guarantee, I had understood that the guarantee of the implants was for life, or at least 15 years. Can someone clarify this question for me: how many years or what is the guarantee period for the implants in case of mechanical failure?

Can someone who has recently had an implant tell me what their doctor said regarding the device's guarantee for mechanical failure?

I had an operation at Antonini's on January 23, 2023, the guarantee is 5 years, the guarantee is only for the device, everything else is paid

in my opinion, by logic. if a manufacturer knows that the majority of implants know that they last from 10 years upwards, he would give a guarantee of at least 10 years to give an incentive to install the implant, instead they give it 5, it is clear that data lasting from 10 years on do not correspond to reality, except in a very small percentage

I mean, Frank66665, do you mean that if the implant fails after the fifth year, you will have to pay the 30k euros again? I find this topic incredible. Let's see if any recently implanted guy responds to this issue as well, and what did his doctor say about the guarantee.

30k euros or 24k euros not sure what Antonini charges. The question is that after the fifth year you will have to pay for everything again, whatever happens?

Warranties for items are often different from country to country. I worked in manufacturing export and often in USA warranties are primarily a marketing tool. Not necessarily carried over to exported goods, even if identical product.

as randalltx says the guarantees and prices are different from country to country, practically with the absence of insurance and limited guarantee in italy nobody should have the prosthesis
