Finally managed to get a surgery slot in Toronto with Dr.Yonah K on the 21st of this month.

Pre-op meeting next week with a nurse(I am assuming).

Good Luck Captain I know you have lot of things running through your head, you'll be fine, you've already taken the big step, scheduling the surgery.

A lot of the guys on here have already given you some great things for your check list, don't hesitate to ask all of us for more things to add to your list.

In the pre-surgery appointment met with the nurse who went over prep work and some post-implant steps.Current medication and supplements review. They were followed by a pharmacy tech and the anesthesiologist.

I called the hotel I will stay..they have a restaurant in-house but no room delivery.I can take out in paper boxes. Of course the delivery apps are always an option.
They have complimentary ice vending machines on two floors.

I have washed all the clothing that I will carry to the hotel(boxers, jock straps, baby socks) with soap and bleach at home today.
Packed a bag with Ziplocs, polysporin, antibacterial soap, handwash, protein shakes, laxatives and regular green teas.

The surgeon will meet me before surgery and in the recovery room later to go over post-surgery protocol.

Good luck! Out of curiosity, could you share a timeline of all appointments you had with Dr. Yonah before the actual surgery date? I'm curious how long the process takes in Ontario and how long you've had to wait for the surgery.

It takes approximately six months for an initial appointment. They are apparently still dealing with covid backlogs. The surgery date can be quite a wait..I was told before the end of 2023 but I guess some cancellation happened and I got a date earlier than expected.

The date is close. Bit of anxiety and hope creeping in.

Completed bleach washing the underwear for next 3/4 days and zip locking them.

Packed the essentials and some extras for hotel stay post-surgery.

The hospital will call me tomorrow for the exact timing of the surgery on the 21st.
