Doctors differ a bit. Ask your doctor for a copy of the discharge instructions to avoid having to get anything the day after your surgery. Wound care products for one. I had 4x4 gauze pads and my doctor was specific on Bacitracin ointment. Also was specific on Motrin as it is an anti inflammatory medication. And I was to wear a jock strap for a number of days afterwards. I had one on after surgery and I had a clean one I used after I was able to take my first shower. Special soap is often advised before surgery. I always shower with Dial antibacterial soap. But prior to surgery I was using Hibiclens soap and told not to use it on my face/head. Skin has a bacteria field in it and washing chest to knees with it helps to prevent infection. I also use alcohol wipes after I shower. Bleach is effective also and one doctor used to advise it you take baths to add a cup of beach to the bath water and soak for 30 minutes. I washed my white cotton underwear, socks, gray sweat pants, jock strap, and bath and hand towels adding bleach and put them straight from high heat dryer into zip lock bags. The morning of surgery I did my dial soap shower followed by Hibiclens scrub, Then used the clean towel from the zip lock bag to dry. Alcohol wipe, clean clothes for zip lock bag. Hand towels yere used to wrap the frozen bean cold packs.
I used dried beans for cold packs. As they are dry there is no water to leak or clump. The are heavy and form well. I had 3 bags I rotated. I was alone and had my meals and drinks made up before. Bing watch shows or computer games or reading material or the like that you can do laying in bed. After the jock strap came off I wanted to just be naked as much as possible. When I started getting up and going out I had more zip lock bag regular brief underwear. Once I was activated I had David Archy bamboo separate pouch underwear. They were really nice but I cannot find them now. The Bamboo is single pouch and the separate pouch are not bamboo. Separatec makes them also. Both come from China and most likely the same place. I used them when I could not get the David Archy ones due to the pandemic. VED use prior to surgery but stopped for a few days prior to surgery. Ask your doctor when to stop. Be as healthy as you can going into surgery.

Re: Pre-Implant Shopping List
If you stay in a local hotel for a night or two after surgery, take snacks. My hotel had a coffee shop/deli. I’d drop in for a to-go breakfast. Go to a nearby sandwich shop (1-2 blocks) for a to-go sandwich. Dinner in hotel.
But there’s a lot of time just laying around. It was good having some trail mix and some healthy snacks.

Great advice, appreciate it. But you know I think I have messed up big time. Your last sentence, "Be as healthy as you can going into surgery," is reminding me that I have not done what I should've. I am overweight and wasn't able to get the weight down, this is my only window to have the procedure done otherwise I can't for at least a year. Not sure what to do now, cancel or just go for it. Too drained mentally to get the weight down with the stress of ED, it's had me messed up for years.

Just do as much as you can to be healthy. You still have time to work on it before your surgery so keep at it. Anything you can do will help. Managing any health issues is most important. I was exercising the morning of my surgery (surgery check in was noon). Hospital was not far from my hotel and I walked in the rain/snow. Walking or any other exercise you can do helps with the stress also. Best of luck to you.

Surgery is in a few days so too late to try and lose any weight. I'm just worried it will have an affect on the implant in terms of size etc., but some other posters did say that it won't.

Size will be measured during surgery and your weight will not make a difference in that. It will make a difference in useable length though. Up until you are being prepped for surgery you can still do a little exercise. Like I said even a bit of walking or making a few trips up and down any steps in your home. Just anything to elevate your heart rate a bit and use some muscles. Anything will help.

When you say useable length, you mean that more will be visible etc once weight is down right? But that all in all, whatever my weight is, the implant that will go in will be the same size whether overweight or not?
I ask because I do not plan on sitting here and never exercising etc, I have been trying to break out of this weight rut for the past decade but haven't been able to pull it off. The whole ED had just taken too much of a toll on me, knocked me for six to be honest, so I am fully planning on going all out on the weight loss once the implant is done. I just feared that it would affect the size of the implant that he decides to use and that was stressing me out.

Correct. You are what you are. What you weigh has no effect on the measurements the doctor will make in the OR.
