9 weeks out but my cylinders are uneven.
9 weeks out but my cylinders are uneven.
9 weeks out and doctors appointment on July 17th but trying to fix it myself. I try stretching the lower one up, Perito exercises, VED. I can't do a revision in a hospital because too expensive and insurance won't cover. Anyone else have this problem? I've been cycling to the max numeral times a day and even pumped up overnight.
Implanted with AMS 700 LGX on April 28, 2023. Viagra no longer worked and tried injections but didn't always work and felt achy.

hello, I don't quite understand the problem, does it hurt? is it wrong? does it inflate badly?

Re: 9 weeks out but my cylinders are uneven.
It inflates OK and pain is normal stinging that will eventually go away. The left side goes up into the glans and the right is about a half inch lower and int into the glans when pumped.

Can you describe the problem more? In what way are they uneven?

As RTE's are available in .5 cm increments many doctors will get the tips within .5 cm of each other. That is approx. .2". So you are 1.27 cm off. What device do you have? This may resolve by itself. Most times another operation for things like this will not happen for 6 months from the time of your first surgery. So you have a wait and need to see what your doctor has to say. As this is not the full implant that is not covered by insurance but a repair of the device you have there may be a way for some help with insurance. Hopefully your doctor can assist you with this as you were measured wrong. I had a proximal perforation of my left cylinder and the doctor removed just the left cylinder and did a sling repair and placed the same cylinder back in. In your case it would be right cylinder and a 1cm additional RTE. Hopefully this will improve over time and you won't need another operation. But if you do the doctor may be able to work with insurance and fix this. You have time yet to see if you can get this to work. My repair did not 100% fix my problem it just improved it by about 1/2. So I have about half the pain and left angle that I had before. So even a repair may not get the tips perfect. At the 6 month point post op is when you most likely will need to make the choice of what to do. If it works and you can live with it you may just want to continue with it rather than go through another surgery even if insurance will cover the repair.
I hope this helps a bit. Try to look at the good parts of this. The device works and you have full control of your erections now. It may not be perfect but at least it works now and you may be able to use it for a lot of fun in the months ahead. Good luck with this.

Thanks for the info. I might fix itself but if nor there is no pain or anything. Just one tip extends further to the end of the penis than the other. The lower kind of makes a slight bump out to the side. Maybe eventually the more distal one will max out and the shorter one will continue to expand and catch up. AMS 700 LGS.

I also had trouble with one cylinder not inflating until the other cylinder was at max and then some fluid would bleed over. Doctor had me shake the pump and when that didn't work said he had no idea what to do as he never had one go that long before. I ended up calling an AMS rep and after some questioning, she gave me a reset for the pump. You might want to give that a shot. If you don't have your paperwork with your AMS reps name and number, you can call Boston Scientific on the 800 number, and they should be able to give that to you. The LGX will expand in length, and I think a lot of doctors like that because the device will fill any available space up to the limits of the device. So, the LGX is best to avoid the complaint of unequal length cylinders. Table 1 in this publication https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5654325/ Shows that the 18 and 21 cm LGX cylinders will expand in length 3 cm or a bit more if there is room. The Titan will expand a bit but nowhere near the LGX. Would have to have been a big mistake for the doctor to measure that amount wrong but all things are possible I guess. See if there is any difference in hardness of the 2 cylinders or if one is faster or slower to inflate than the other. These are pump issues like I had when I was activated.
You might want to fill out a signature at the bottom of your posts like I and others have. This will let others know some information that will help answer your questions better and save you for typing out the information in different threads you have on this site. And you may get more responses as some times we don't have the time to ask questions and then come back later. If you don't have your device information BS may be able to give it to you. You can also contact the facility where the surgery was done and request your records and be sure to request the doctors surgery notes. It should have the right and left measurements the doctor made.
Again you have time as most times a doctor will wait 6 months to do a second surgery. But be sure to tell your doctor about this as if this does cause a problem then it may be possible for an earlier surgery. The reps at BS have some really great fixes you can try and maybe this will work out quickly. Contacting BS will also create a record of this problem. Be sure to observe and note any differences in hardness and speed of inflation of each cylinder. Good luck.

My left cylinder is father up in my glands also. Pumping it to the max evens them out some. Everything works just fine so I'm good with the difference. My surgeon acknowledged that there was a difference of about .5 millimeters.
Anyway, if it works fine then don't worry about it

This is really interesting. Before my revision few days ago I had a similar issue wher the left side would inflate more than the right. My left side was more round and right side was oval. This didn't use to happen a month ago.
How exactly did you fix it? What is a reset for the pump?
Thank you,
J
