Keeping the area clean and dry for 2-4 days is all you should have to worry about. The risk for infection is quite low. I showered on day 3 but didn't let the water hit directly on my penis because that hurt! Use a clean towel and dab that area dry first.

Thanks Old Guy, just waiting to be able to pass water so I can be discharged, not enough at the moment.

Check with your insurance company and see if it is covered. I have AARP United Healthcare .. My g/f is pretty good with infections and stuff but the dr. set the whole thing up. I take a shower every other day since I'm not doing much physical work or anything. Your right hurts to spray him with water, hurts almost as bad as when I was taking shots. I'm amazed at how low overall the pain has been. I'm sure it's because a malleable implant is such a simple surgery compared to an inflatable.

I would certainly ask the doctor for a copy of the surgery notes, and all the information regarding the actual implant they put inside you. You want some sort of identifying information regarding your device, so if there's a recall or an issue found with certain implants, you can determine if you have one that falls in the recall range so that you can avail yourself of any compensation or replacement.

There likely should have been a sticker pulled off the implant packaging that has all this information on it, and attached to your documentation. You should at the very least have a copy of this, if not the original. Also, you want the date, size, manner in which you were implanted, along with notes regarding any problems or issues addressed during surgery. It will also list the anasthesia you were given and the duration of the surgery.

Yeah, the issue is since he's in the UK, he writes the date differently than we do. His 4/7/23 is our 7/4/23. I thought he was still having issues from April 7!

He was just implanted yesterday, I didn't put it together that he is the Indepenis Day guy. ;)

This is great advice thanks and I will ask for it when I go to see him in two weeks time. Just got back home now. On the nurse discharge summary it merely said, "Routine post-operative care. Uneventful Surgery and Recovery."
